So the wife decided to do another classic game theme Christmas Tree this year. I didn't know that she was going to do another game theme tree, and certainly wouldn't have expected Pac-Man. I think it's pretty awesome, but then I really go for stuff like this.

A close up of the decorations.

The tree is actually black, like the background of the Pac-Man play field, with electric blue ribbons to represent the neon maze walls. There are white 'Energizer' Christmas tree balls and white string light 'dots'. The ornaments are made from Pac-Man character plushes and plastic toy cherries for bonus fruit items. She didn't put other fruits because she couldn't find any that looked uniformly nice as the cherries did, and she didn't know that there were 'keys' in Pac-Man (until I told her this morning). We're not doing gifts again this year, but we might put mock gifts wrapped in ghost colours under the tree. She also couldn't find a yellow tree skirt, regretfully. If she did, she could have opened a wedge in the side of it (like an open Pac-Man mouth).

I really dig it. I think it even like it better than the Super Mario Tree (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=149532&highlight=Christmas+Tree+2010) she did last year.

My apologies in advance to Dred and MyTurnToPlay. :|

I think I like the look of this one more than the look of the Mario tree too. Either way, that tree looks awesome!!!

That's really cool. :) I never saw that Mario tree before, but I think this is even nicer. Is that your main tree? I could see doing that as a little side thing, but I'd still want a traditional Christmas tree. My mom works at a greenhouse/nursery, and they always have around a dozen or so decorated trees, with a few having really wacky themes. Seems fun.

I could see doing that as a little side thing, but I'd still want a traditional Christmas tree. Our house use to be the place where everyone met up for Christmas, but since my father-in-law died 2 years ago, we don't have family gatherings at our place anymore. I suppose that's why we haven't been doing 'traditional' trees, since it's just the two of us (the fun of it helps cheer her up).

She'll probably do a Hello Kitty theme next year since she's done two years of me themes, then we may go back to classic trees again.
