I have bad sense of humor, but I find this very funny.
The K-Mart's around here don't know how to clearance items.
For 10 years now, they still have an NES selection.
Yes.
About 20 FACTORY SEALED (duh) copies of PRINCE OF PERSIA for the NES.
On clearance for $32.95.
Still that price, still sitting there. Went there today...and they're there. Worth anything? I might try this game out if they drop it to like, 5 dollars, but otherwise, no. I bet they will still be there when I'm in my sixties (I'm in my 20's). I don't understand them. Perhaps they are waiting for someone to shoplift the games...

LOL
SOMETHING is really messed up with that -- if I saw that, I'd take one game to the front and ask for a price check. If it's still ringing at that price, kindly point out that by now that's what all TWENTY copies of the game are worth, not just one, and see what they say. Failing that, talk to a manager.
Then keep the copies you want and use the rest for trade bait. :D

Dude!
Go back there and offer $5 a game. They WON'T be in the system - my two copies of SMB3 and Athletic World weren't!

Did you have someone scan one of the games? Perhaps they've been marked down to a penny, but no one has noticed. It happens all the time; one price drop is missed, and a stack of games sits there for ages.

Last year I saw a copy of B.C. Racers (or something like that) for the 32X on "clearance" for $39.99. Absolutely silly stuff going on there. I bet that freaking Wal-Mart smiley face would've rolled back the price by now.

I swear the KayBees in my town still has a billion copies of Riddick Bowe boxing for the SNES for sale. And when I moved up here, they still had a couple sealed NES games (Kirby's Adventure, Star Tropics, Zelda, and Wario's Woods, all of which I bought a copy of).
The TRU by my house has Brunswick Bowling for the SNES... about 50 copies of it, for $30 still, plus tons of Genny games and Game Gear games. Not one of them marked down. They've got all their N64 games sitting in the '$9.99 and up, no longer worthy of being in the security room' section of the store. And DC games too. Full price.
If they give you the games, I'll buy a sealed Prince of Persia off of you.

They should all get a clue from Wal-Mart. I remember a few years ago that they had a crapload of Sega CD, Genesis and SNES games in a clearance dump bin for, like, dirt cheap. Got the three Super Star Wars (all new) games for $5.00 each! Also got Ecco the Dolphin, Tomcat Alley ( :hmm: ) and Dune (all new) on Sega CD for $2.00 each!

You know, I remember way back in 1982 when the local K-Mart had one of those Atari 2600 kiosks with the cartridge bank switchers set up. The K-Mart was walking distance from my house as a kid. Although I had a 2600 at home, I daresay I spent more time playing the one at the K-Mart, which had, obviously, a wider selection of games, not to mention it was on a color TV whereas my parents only let me hook my 2600 to the B&W
Anyway, over twenty years later, whenever I visit that K-Mart I still have it half in my mind that that kiosk is still over there, and I find myself drifting subconsciously towards its old location, wherein Reality usually sets in by presenting me with a pallette full of Penzoil or some such in the old kiosk's rightful place. :(
Manimal's story has given me hope. If K-Mart is this backdated, maybe they still have that kiosk in the proverbial "back of the store", just waiting for me to haul it away for a pittance. Who knows?
