Judging by the red headband, I'd say that's Ryu.

I was talking about the victim...

On topic, I have some small finds this month: Super Nova (SNES) and Mario Bros. (NES). Cool to have another Taito shmup and another black label NES game.

Why is it that it seems like every jungle green N64 is missing the ram expansion door? I've got one and can't find a replacement anywhere! Anybody got an extra? Let me know please! On a positive got Rayman Origins for the PS3 new for $30! :)

I posted a thread asking for a green door. No dice.

How much is a MUSHA Aleste Japanese cart worth?
I saw one with minor label damage for $39 shipped BIN on ebay and thought it would be a good idea to grab it.
I'm pretty sure that would be decent price for Genesis, and I'm guessing the MD version is even rarer?

Utena is awesome. I just got done watching the new DVD sets. Despite how it looks, the series is psychological and bizarre.

Cool. I'm going to watch them in the next few days.

Cool. I'm going to watch them in the next few days.

Just so you know, the first 12 episodes aren't representative of the series as a whole. Episode 14 is the point of no return, and it just keeps getting better.

So these were from Thursday, my official last finds before Christmas.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2011-12-22.jpg

Mi Venganza (My Revenge)
Narco Satanico (Satanist Drug Lords)

In big boxes, former rentals, and all sorts of trashy Mexican goodness. Plus these are US releases, so they have an English synopsis in the back! Lemme type them up for ya:

My Revenge:
The family of a cop (Miguel Angel Rodriguez) is the victim of a brutal assault carried out by a group of sadistic criminals. Not satisfied by the plunder, they rape and kill his mother and his sister while leaving the father in a state of a nervous shock. Miguel Angel, who has always been known as a wise cop, has to break every legal rule in order to impose what he calls: MY REVENGE.

Funny thing about that translation. In the original Spanish, it says he was a commanding officer in the "Policía Judicial", which were usually the most brutal in all the force... taking people and interrogating them, forcing confessions via beatings and torture. But in the English one, not a peep. Huh.

Satanist Drug Lords:
Santanism, Sex and Crime all combine to take you to an obscure world of terror and blood, live this nightmare that will trap you and you will not be able to wake up to this torterous and bloody experience.

Badly translated AND horribly explained. Oh well. I wonder what's in store. :P

Heh, I think it would be pretty funny if you popped in those VHSes only to discover they've been recorded over with a bunch of old El Chavo episodes.

I almost forgot, but I did find stuff earlier today at the thrifts.

I found 20 of these all loose;

Anyone have an idea what they would be worth? I can't find much about them beside that one page.

Not really game related, but I did purchase two 27" Zenith CRT's for $26 each. Why post this? Because it seems they came from a hotel, one of them having what seems to be a RC holder and inside of it says "LodgeNet Nintendo".

Pretty neat, at least for me.

My old 40gb PS3 was giving up the ghost and my top loader didn't come out the way I wanted it when I changed the color to metallic silver. So...

http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu277/camarotuner13/photo4.jpg

paid GS about 40 bucks under warranty to upgrade to a 160gb slim and then took the top loader apart, again, to paint it black. VERY happy with how it came out and I think they look good together.

My wife really came through for me again this Christmas:

Got a new Xbox 360 Controller, it's a silver Limited Edition one. I've never seen this one before. I have been needing a new one for a long time since the one I had before was wearing out.

Got me a 3DS. I have been talking about wanting one for months so she went and got me a black one. I still have to try it out but as soon as I post this I'll be breaking it out.

Lastly she got me Mario Land 3D. I can't wait to try it out.

I'm going to be buying Mario Cart 3D and probably a couple of used games from EB Games during their boxing week sale!

Then my family got me some new Skylander packs.

I bought my wife Lego Harry Potter years 5-7 and our son got Once Upon a Monster.

Overall it's a very good gaming Christmas!

I just got back from getting a massive CL Saturn lot 41 games all CIB and a model one system with two controllers for $100 or about $2.50 a game and the system free. Nothing to over the top (I don't think) but definitely some good games here.

You did good. Although coco games are rarer than other consoles or computers they don't seem to command the big bucks and $5 - $10 is about right with the Coco 3 games usually commanding the higher dollars. There were a few Anteco carts that sold for a few hundred a year or so ago on ebay but they're very rare.

PS - the Demon Attack art is pretty much the exact same as the 2600 - just looks reversed and more of a close up. They actually took pictures of these little silver models that they built, like a dinosaur strapped to a space jetpack :D

Oh and its a very good port too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaNcNHhKNxA

Me and a couple of buddies went out a bit of Xmas Eve game hunting, and I found these at probably the last Gamestop on earth that still keeps the boxes and manuals for Gamecube games.
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b235/joshnickerson/dpblog/XmasB.jpg
Took advantage of their B2G1 sale and managed to score the lot for under $28... amazingly, I found a couple of titles that I never see in decent shape, namely Universal Studios Tour and Samurai Jack, both with boxes and manuals.
As for Christmas itself, my best friend hooked me up with this amazing game lot.

We always like to give each other crappy NES sports games as gag gifts to each other, but he went above and beyond with the actual gift this year. Sparkster? Soul Blazer? Mystical Ninja CIB? Just wow...
Just as awesome is the gift my family got me...

The box in the back is DJ Hero 2.

I ended up getting 23 games for about 100. I really can't complain too much for 4.30 a game.

Had a good day of finds today at the first two places I went to. Nothing at the other five places.

First stop was the Goodwill where I picked up the Gibson Wii guitar for $4 (missing the back part that covers the WiiMote). Works great!
This is the second one of these I have found in the last week. The first one was covered in stickers though; still working on removing those.

Second stop was a local Pawn shop where I got the 4 games. Picked up Cool Boarders 2001 as it is the last one of the series and I had never realized they made any Cool Boarders for PS2. Both Guitar Hero games were $2 each and are complete. The best find of the day was Super Mario Galaxy for $1. It was in the AS-IS bin. It was complete but was badly scratched and the store had written AS-IS on the front of the case and on the label side of the disc. I took the disc to Hastings and had it buffed for $2. Came out looking like new. Used some rubbing alcohol and got the AS-IS off of the case and the game. Now it looks like new! I'm glad I didn't open the greatest hits one I bought before Christmas so I can return it and get another game!

Not a bad haul for $10...

I went to visit family this weekend and went to a few flea markets on Saturday. Not much (expected due to Christmas) but picked up a few things.

PS2 Network Adapter - $5
Yamaha PSS 170 keyboard - $10
Panasonic RR-830 - $10
Tetris Attack SNES - $1

Also, a copy of Redneck Zombies (VHS) for $1. I thought it was too cool to pass up.

*NSFW, lots of gore and such.

"It makes Dawn of the Dead look like Mary Poppins."

Took advantage of the GameStop sale on Thursday and picked up Just Dance 3 for $20 (coupon + price reduction) for my aunt and used the B2G1F to grab Dead Island, a Wii game for my uncle, and Sally's Salon for the DS (resell title). I need to go back tomorrow and pick up a few more with two Gift cards I received for Christmas.

On the way home from work, decided to check out the Half Price Books down the road. Little did I know they were having a 20% off everything sale until December 30.

I wandered to the video game section and found four boxed Sega Master System games:

Double Dragon - $5.99
Enduro Racer - $5.99
Wonder Boy in Monsterland - $5.99
Hang On/Safari Hunt - $1.00

All in great shape, but sadly missing the instruction manuals.

All 20% off, of course. I was surprised to see these here. According to the price tags, they were bought by the store 5 days ago.

These are probably my last finds for December:

Wii Nunchuck w/ Box for $5.00 (Used) - I can finally play a few of my two player games that require the nunchuck.

Tail Concerto for $10.00 (Used, Disc Only) - I finally found a copy of this through Craigslist, but it may turn out to be a bust. I noticed some scratches on the disc, but bought it anyway because figured I could get it resurfaced. Unfortunately, when I got it home I realized the disc was more scratched than I first thought. It looks like someone rubbed a piece of sandpaper on it, and there are a few light scratches on the label side as well. And of course, all the places that do resurfacing are closed today.:frustrated: Well, I'll have to cross my fingers and hope resurfacing fixes the problem.

Reboot: The Definitive Mainframe Edition Boxset for $49.99 (New) - My sister and I went on a boxing day shopping trip, and this is what picked up.

Tail Concerto was cheap for many, many years. A couple years ago, $15 would've been a fairly typical price for it. Ever since Solatorobo came out in Japan, though, the price has been climbing as more and more people are learning about Tail Concerto and wanting to experience the first game in the Little Tail Bronx franchise. Maybe it'll die down in time, who knows.

Went to a thrift store today. Several things weren't priced and I found this old 32 in 1 Dreamgear Plug n' Play. The lady wanted $10 for it because "it has 32 games on it." I kept myself from LOL and told her I wasn't interested.

However, I did buy:

GTA2 GH - $2 (a bit high but I've been wanting to play it again)
Official PS1 memory card - $0.50

The following N64 games for $1 each:

All Star Tennis 99
Super Mario 64
Toy Story 2
Lego Racers
Turok

Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 GameCube (disc only) - $0.75
DualShock 2 - $2

And for some non-game finds:

Telex Copyette 1 & 1 - $3.50 (not one of the expensive models I was hoping for but still not bad)
Panasonic AG-2400 - $5 (unit, case, carrying strap, probably $100 if it works)

I also spotted a couple of old printers I'll probably grab next time (old lasers, bubbles, commercial type stuff). I wasn't going to bother today because price Nazi lady was working and the lady that usually works always gives me solids. Price Nazi won't do that.

Also spotted an employee taking a 360 to their staging room but I bet one of the employees grabs that up. I'll be in that area again this weekend so I'll see if they have it on the floor. Doubt it though.

No, I figured I'd take what I could find on that one. I actually got it to attempt to play, which is weird since I'm not really into RPGs at all. But the element of time travel seems cool enough.

I had to drive to Hillsboro to get it. It was a fun trip, driving back roads for an hour or so each way.

If you ask the associate at the GS closer to you they'll often arrange to have an item shipped in for a customer from another store as long as it isn't a cheap-o game. Yeah I'd get a 30 dollar game shipped in but if it was some 2 dollar PS2 title, not so much.

Mine refused to do that with a store in the same goddamn town. (I don't have a car and spending three hours on a bus just to get there isn't my idea of fun. The bus routes are fucked up.)

Ugh ok I should rephrase. They *should* do this for customers but it is at the discretion of both the store you're in and the store they need to get it from. I've called stores and been told "no I won't wanna". At that point I couldn't do anything but holy hell "I don't wanna"? Seriously?

If they do that, call the District Office. Seriously, those District Managers take pride in their jobs and will lay down the book at employees that refuse to help you based on "I don't wanna" and other arbitrary reasons.

Ever since Solatorobo came out in Japan, though, the price has been climbing as more and more people are learning about Tail Concerto and wanting to experience the first game in the Little Tail Bronx franchise.

Cool. Thanks for the heads up. I just ordered a new copy of Solatorobo from Amazon today. I think it was around $17.

Gamestop had a buy two, get one free sale. I got the following:

http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x28/TUPPYLUVER95/DSCN0942.jpg

Shinobi was $2.99. Jak II and Amazing Island were free with the deal. Jonny Mosley Mad Trix was $0.99, I got it for the hilarious opening video. Geist was $3.99. I've been meaning to try this and Eternal Darkness, but I could never find it for some reason. Yes, I did pay $5 for Bad Boys: Miami Takedown. I watched Kitsune's playthrough of the game, and it looked fun. The Cheats N' Codes Disc was $2, sealed.

I kind of liked Jonny Mosley Mad Trix for how bad it was. Had fun hitting the "grind button" or whatever and warping halfway across the screen to the nearest stair-rail.

yea you would be some wally worlds have used game bins. i wish ours had those that would be awsome because i would spend my working hours scanning the bins for goodies....of course i would probably be perpetualy broke in the process...

When it arrives, will you let me know whether it comes with the big box/soundtrack or not? I've been looking to pick it up and that's a great price :)

It should. I'd be extremely surprised if Solatorobo had gotten a second print run (or ever will), and all of that initial batch come with the extras.

My thoughts exactly, but you can never be to sure when buying online without pictures or a product description. Even though it's from amazon's warehouse you never know :)

I didn't realize there was a Gamestop out in Hillsboro. There isn't a whole heck of lot out there. I took a sojourn out there earlier this year to look for a restaurant that was no longer there. :| I probably should have tried to call first. :ass:

Edit: One thing I did find but ended up passing on was a original style Teal Nintendo DS (Nintendogs Best Friends) at a place called Valley thrift. They wanted $10 for it and it looked in decent shape except for it was missing the battery compartment completely. I imagine I could have gotten a replacement battery and flipped it but it's probably gone now.

Tuesday's finds, a bunch of random music albums.

Today's finds. Flight Simulator X doesn't have its manual. I hope to sell this as a bundle soon enough.

I just got my disc-only copy of Tail Concerto resurfaced. And, despite the scratches on the label side of the disc, it works! :D

Of course, it's still possible that the game will lock-up further in. But, even adding in the resurfacing costs, I still got the game for a darn good price.

Well, at least you won't have to play long to find out if it'll freeze. You can get through the game 100% in no more than 5-6 hours.

Will do.

I'm curious to see if it does or not. The picture shown on the item page has a sticker that states the soundtrack is included. The product description, however, makes no mention of a bonus soundtrack.
