View Full Version : December 2011 Finds
The 1 2 P

Well I actually found some of this stuff yesterday on the 30th but since I just got home now is as good a time as any:
http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC1021.jpg
UFC 2010(360) $7.50
EA Sports MMA(360) $9.50
Marvel Vs Capcom 2(PS2) $7.19
Kinect Joyride(360) $9.99
I grabbed all of these at Best Buy. Sometimes they actually have good used games, as was the case with MVC2. Kinect Joyride was a black friday special and the other two mma games are weirdly priced clearances.
http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC1023.jpg
Nintendo DS Carrying Case $2
Final Fantasy Japanese Toy/Collectible Thingie $4
Smallville Paperback 50 cents
These were all Goodwill finds. I still don't have a DS yet but I might as well be prepared. It's funny how this Goodwill always has cases for Gameboy Advances and DS systems but when ever they get the actually units in they are always missing the chargers. The Final Fantasy thingie was just sitting on a shelf in the book aisle. It's looks like an xmas ornament but I think it's just a random collectible. And the Smallville book was a pleasant surprise because that was one of my favorite shows.

Sure did. They usually get a bunch of bullshit but when I saw that the other day I grabbed it. I needed a disc to complete my manual and case only copy but even if I had a complete copy I couldn't pass on one for that price. Gamestop still sells that game for atleast $30.

That's incredible. I picked one up at Goodwill for $4.99 CIB. I didn't know they were worth THAT much.

Once upon a time MVC2 on PS2 was money in the 75-100 range easy. With the PSN/XBL release and MVC3 showing up... yeah it's taken a huge hit. Still a great game though.

Snagged up a Yakuza 4 on PS3 from Wal-Mart today for the Black Friday price of $10. I would have figured it would have reverted back to it's MSRP but I'm happy to have gotten it since I missed it on Black Friday. :)

A lot of the poor selling/older games will stay at BF prices until they're gone. Stores are trying to clear out inventory for next year.
I also snagged the last copy for $10 on BF. Also grabbed Singularity for $10. Didn't have a lot of luck with older finds the past week; a copy of Vigilante for the Master System and some old books.

After my loyal customer discount at the pawn shop, the NES games and Mario and Luigi GBA were a toal of $14. The rest were thrift finds: 2 for the Vsmile game, 3 for Dr Brain (Mac, or I woulda passed), the PS2 network adapter was $4, and the Game Gear Game Genie and the JagLink were .99 each ROFL
Not big money on the JagLink of G Genie, but htf and cool. Trading them to mikesides.

Today's thrift run was ok...
http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n629/ConneticutLeatherCompany/gkids001-12.jpg
.25 for PC Karnov and DOS Shadow Caster. Can't find any info on Karnov, any help value-wise would be appreciated. $3 total for the GBA games, $1.50 for Jak, 1 for the DC sports thing, .50 for the Tamatown thing, 2 for the Pokemon game, $3 for Khet (a cool laser-chess type game), and $2 for 2 of the 3 halfs of Manbearpig :)
But the cool find, and probably the most profitable was this:
http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n629/ConneticutLeatherCompany/gkids002-8.jpg
10 bucks, but I never see fischertechnik stuff in the wild at all, and an Apple II Interface @_@ Didn't even know they existed. Any help on the potenial value of this would be nice too.

I got two CDs in the mail:
Pink Floyd - The Final Cut
Squirrel Nut Zippers - Christmas Caravan
Those were $5 shipped. Astute readers (or people with weird memory) may remember that I found a bootleg Pink Floyd two disc set called "The Final Cat" back in October 2010 (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1767991&postcount=224)... well I saw this album for sale at $1 so I said, why not.
Oh yeah, when I got back I was greeted by my main boot drive shitting itself so I just spent the past four hours reinstalling Windows on a spare drive, and I have no idea if I'll be able to recover my documents and games. Merry fucking Christmas.

I have the translucent Red N64 myself ..
That Xbox is Awesome..
Great Score..

The Last of the Load.
If you’ve been following my Mass SNES/N64 game pick-up from the one guy then this is the last of it..(as far as he says:()
I didn’t go hunting yesterday,I have this kick me in the head can’t stop sneezing cold that I didn’t want to make worst.:|
I haven’t been bed ridden sick in at least 10 years so I’m trying for that not to happen..(I am pissed though that I might had missed that big find)
I did go to an indoor Nighttime 5 to 10pm flea market last night to meet up with my friends and friend vendor..
My friend vendor game me the box of Mini Hess Trucks to sell as he’s had no luck selling them..The empty Game cube box(just no system) I picked up for $5.00 from a lady selling for charity.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/Misc%20Pictures/th_THELASTOFTHELOAD002.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/Misc%20Pictures/THELASTOFTHELOAD002.jpg)http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/Misc%20Pictures/th_THELASTOFTHELOAD004.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/Misc%20Pictures/THELASTOFTHELOAD004.jpg)
Otherwise there was nothing worthwhile
I met up with the guy again, and as he says this is the last of it,he’s been digging in boxes and threw in anything extra he could find such as NES manuals,Geneses book, and a game VHS tape..
He hasn’t located games that he sold me strategy guides for so they are a never to be had..

The lower NES games boxes have no game in them..
My friend who led me to this find usually buys all the NES stuff off this guy but I haven’t heard from him,It’s like he fell off the side of the Earth..
I’ve been putting everything up on ebay as fast as I can.I have a lot listed now and a lot more to go..

Videogamerdaryll, your finds never cease to amaze me!
I had a good day today. Mikesides and I went to the thrifts and pawn shop today. Works out well, cause he's got most every NES game and lots more than I do, and he doesn't sell much on Ebay, so he got a single game today that he needed (sorry bro!), and I spent $70.
http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n629/ConneticutLeatherCompany/gkids003-7.jpg
$1 each for the NES games, .50 each for the 2600 carts, .50 for Beverly Hills Cop Betamax, $3 for sealed mac/pc Myst III, $4 for sealed PS2 DDR Extreme, $1 for the MtG cards, $4 for the Wavebird (no Battery cover) with reciever, $3 for the switchbox, $4 for the 360 power supply, $9 for Pokemon Fire Red, and $7 for the Cabbage Patch Kids Phonograph with box and paperwork.
http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n629/ConneticutLeatherCompany/gkids002-9.jpg
$2 for the kid's clock toy, and $10 for the Rockband Drums. The tag said 'like brand new', but I still took a look before I bought it:

You would be surprised.
Anyway, I picked up a SNES with five games (mostly expensive $10-20 apiece titles) for $40. A bit high but it's an easy sale during the holiday season. I helped someone out and will make a little money in the process. Also picked up a copy of Zelda: Link to the Past for $3 (another copy was in that lot so now I have two) and Super Caesar's Palace for $1. Finished off with five games for $2 each including some PS2 RPG's and GC games. I can't remember the titles off the top of my head because I haven't removed them from the car yet. Would have bought more but the other games were common or had a lot damage. That's usually how it goes.
Oh yea, and a loose Saturn with Virtual Fighter 2 for $3. It's very dirty but it's a Model 1. Hopefully it works.

Levi's 70's Era Denim Sherpa Jacket. Made in USA. Has some slight stains, most of which came out in the wash. This thing is twice the quality and finish than my current generation Levi's sherpa. I really don't want to part with it, but it's up for sale/trade for the right stuff, or a TG-16 setup.

Games were $2.99/ea and the joystick controller was $4.99. The cord is a little loose, so I'll probably crack it open and super glue it back into the stress reliever.
Me and the wife LOOKED and LOOKED for the console and associated, I even asked someone who worked at the ARC and they said that the games came in yesterday and that was all they had. The pins on the cards are PERFECT, seems like they have never been played, they all have their associated plastic condoms too!

I bought one at a Goodwill once, for $2, but it was just the console. I ended up selling it for parts and/or repair for $25, kicking myself for that now. Funny thing was, they had a tub of NES games, mostly commons, some Mario and Zelda. Wanted $9.99/ea, I was like NOPE, and wife came back with those. A cinder block fell out of my ass, and we tore that place apart for the console. No luck.

I love the sound and graphics quality of Earthworm Jim 2 on the Saturn, but the half-assed CG for the time, is just horrible. If it had the "cow" intermission like the SNES version, it would have felt right.

You would be surprised....I agree..I see it all the time..Flea market people will sell you poop if they could..:)
But this lady is so nice...she sells all kinds of donated to her for Charity stuff, sells it and gives the money to charity. She has no idea about what she sells, lots of things are given to her the same day by people stopping by who know her..
She's been known for her charity work for years she's actually the only person at the fleas who does it.that I know of.... ..She didn't actually have a price on it..The stuff on her table is make an offer donation and take it..I kinda got caught off guard,I was looking at her table, scooted over to the box & looked in the box out of curiousity..,she said make an offer and take it :)..Feeling guilty as heck I didn't want to offer her a buck so I gave her a $5
I actually have three empty Black game cube boxes right now with some black gamecubes to fill them but I just don't have the time to get to it as I find no money in selling them,I prefer to just leave the box system displayed on my shelves.

If it's a chain, I suggest you hit all of them in your area, the console could have gotten separated at their distribution hub. That happened to me, I found a bunch of PAL Playstation games in a thrift, but no console. The next day off work I went to the other locations and found the PAL PS1 to play them on.

DtagonballZ, First n Ten, and Classical Baby were a buck. So was Art of War Century of Warfare (cha-ching!). Beta tapes were 1 for the two movies and .50 for the 'protect yer kids' one. It stars Henry Winkler, so I'm there. Babylon 5 Season One was $5, and the loose Saturn games were a buck for all four. The Space Pen Refills were $2 for all of them. OK day so far.
From the November 2011 Finds thread:
That's the sort of thing I put on Amazon for pretty high and just let it sit. Supply and demand are both fairly low, so when someone really wants it they don't have a lot of options. And auction won't necessarily generate lots of bids, though.
Anyway, someone has one on there for 80 right now: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0029DJI18/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&qid=1322507959&sr=8-5&condition=new I don't know specifically about this game/expansion, so can't really give you a $ amount it would sell for.
That 350 levels thing is basically a bunch of stuff downloaded from the internet and stuck in a CD. Not exactly legal or in high demand, but you'll find a buyer eventually.
I listed it for $50 BiN OBO, and it sold for the $50. Not the $80 others want, but it's gone, and I got more money to spend looking for the next (?). Thanks Cornelius and Kitsune Sniper!

Only find today was a CIB Elemental Gearbolt for the PS1 @ Goodwill for $1.99. Not worth a ton but I like the shiny Working Designs artwork.

Rask... damn, nice! That is odd pricing, though. Who would randomly price a couple NES games at $20, not knowing they are worth a lot more?
Good to see people getting their Club Nintendo pins. I'm excited to get mine now!
Not sure if I mentioned it, but over Thanksgiving my sister found/gave me my old brick GBA! And the three games I had for it: Mario Land, Tetris, and Castlevania Adventure. I know I beat this copy of Mario Land through twice straight, played the crap out of Tetris, and beat my head against Castlevania for hours and hours. I played a lot of Metroid II on this machine, too, but I must have borrowed it or rented it or something.

You'll need to replace the batteries in the Pokemon carts. A pain in the ass, but they'll be worth about $25 each with a new battery. Worth about whta you paid without a good battery.
And yes, selling games doesn't always pay the bills, so the smart man diversifies ;)

Anyway, I only found one thing today: William Shatner's album, Has Been. I pirated this years ago and now it's time to retire that copy and have my own.

$2 each for the Pass the Pigs games, $2 for the Hot Wheels game (missing one cardboard token, made in 1968. Trading it to mikesides), $4 for the foot switch, $5 for Elvis collection, $2 for the 2nd volume of Dragon Ball. I got the first volume yesterday at a different thrift... Weird how that happens. But my personal keeper from today's mess was the Schoolhouse Rock Rocks CD. I mean Conjunction Junction performed by Better Than Ezra, Three is a Magic Number with Blind Melon, The Energy Blues with Biz Marke... :D
Supposed to get a Dennon Turntable for $12 later. They were pricing it but hadn't put it out yet, so I asked them to set it aside for me till they would sell it. I'll show it when I get it.

Denon's are real nice. Even if it's an intro model, you'll still profit a bit. I know some of the nicer models go for several hundred if they're in good condition.

Ah, mid-90's model. A bit too new for my tastes but you'll have no problem getting rid of it.
This is a random question for anyone; who knows anything about old board games? I have three that I found a month or two ago at a yard sale; Silverton: A Colorado Railroading Game, Stocks & Bonds, and some Business one which I can't recall the name of. I paid $3 for the set because I thought they were cool. I couldn't find the Colorado game on eBay but the other two had listings for $10-30.
Going through my basement and I'm finding crap I forgot I bought.

Damn, those Jaguar games couldn't have been cheap. I'm afraid to ask how much you paid for them. Battlesphere isn't exactly inexpensive, not to mention the other post-Atari releases you've got there. And I didn't even know anybody had made reproductions of Robinson's Requiem!

A busy year ended with a surprise bonus at work. So, I paid going rate online for these, I wanted to flesh out my previously weak Jag collection for some strange reason. Both B&C and Gooddealgames.com have Robinson's Requiem discs available now for Jag CD. I think it only came out in the past month or 2. Thanks.

Nice haul. There's an interesting mix of Jaguar titles there. I wasn't aware that Robinson's Requiem had come out on Jaguar CD. I spy a Towers II in that group. Putting it bluntly, that title is TERRIBLE. I traded someone for a copy almost a decade ago and I'm kicking myself what I gave up for it (Popful Mail and a certain Hideo Kojima game that seemed similar to Blade Runner ). At the time it was one of the rarest Jaguar titles and I had spares of the titles I gave up. I'm thinking if I had held on to them I could have gotten MUCH better returns on them. :(

To add to this, I would agree on the GBC Pokemon but the GBA ones only use the battery for keeping track of time for timed events so if the battery is dead on a GBA Pokemon it will give you a message when the game starts up letting you know that the battery is dead but will still save fine. Without looking it up myself I'm guessing that you could still sell either of those GBA Pokemon games for about $15 shipped online if the batteries are dead.

The Pokemon GBA games go for $17-20 right now during Xmas with a good battery. I have bought from Daryll on Ebay, and know he has a solid video game seller's account. He'd have to point out the battery is dead, and then it's hard to get more than $8 for them.

Does that Final Cut have, When The Tigers Broke Free on it?
I know that The Final Cut in the Discovery box set has that song on it and as far as I can tell with the normal CD there was a reprint so now some have that song and some don’t. I can never seem to find the version with that song on it.
Also I don’t understand why they would tack that song onto that album now when it’s the first song in the movie The Wall why not add it to The Wall?

The Final Cut was Floyd's death-knell. Songs like 'Tigers' that the band collectively decided to eliminate from The Wall (much to Waters' dismay) were re-introduced for The Final Cut. The band had alreay had a couple of issues with Waters' ego, and they basically just said 'fuck it' and let him have one last album before they sent him packing.
But Gilmour still owns most of the rights to Floyd's stuff, and while he may let 'Tigers' slip onto an album at the fans' request (it is a bad-ass song), I'm guessing he probably won't let Waters get the satisfaction seeing him admit the inclusion of this song would have made their iconic album better.

OK, I just got off the phone with him. The Silverton game used to be expensive, but they re-popped it, so that edition you have is worth about $30-40. None on Ebay right now, but he knows his games, so I trust his evaluation. The other two aren't worth much. And then he told me to get:
Railroad Tycoon
Rail Baron
Those are 2 of the 3 railroad games worth money, according to him. The other one has a weird name I forgot already :-/
