Without component or s-video cables, that is. Trying to play an N64 game in "Hi-Res mode" is nightmarish due to jittery text. Same thing with any current-gen game in 480i without a good cable solution. I've got s-video cables, but I sometimes wonder if you can do anything about it without them.

you could lower the contrast and brightness. That will kinda "fix" the problem. A TV can only give you as good of a signal as its gets I'm afraid.

Not much you can do. Besides AV and RF cables suck, they cant even do 480i justice. Just use your Svid.

Why are you opposed to just using the S-video cables? If your TV supports them, and you have them, there's no reason to avoid them on systems like N64 where it's the best you can do.

Who says I'm opposed? All I said was that I sometimes wonder if there's any way to reduce it without them. I use S-Video or component on most of my 5th-gen and later systems.

Okay, I just got the impression you were trying to avoid S-video for some reason.

But no, composite is what it is. That's why S-video (and later) came about in the first place, because composite wasn't good enough. Same reason composite replaced RF.
