Sega saturn audio video problem please help

So i have a issue/question. SO i picked up a sega saturn a few months ago from digital press themselves...came home tested worked great. I only use the system like twice cause i haven't found much games yet in the wild. Well Today i decided to turn it on for first time in a few months and it powers on and all but theres no video or sound. Im using the svideo cable that i got with the system and it doesn't work...its really strange because system powers on disc spins and all but no sound or video...has anyone heard of these cables going bad that often i mean i barely used it hope my system isn't ruined. ANy help would be great

I'd start by trying a new cord. Probably the issue.
