This new MS-DOS Pac-clone named Paku Paku (http://www.deathshadow.com/pakuPaku) was programmed by Jason Knight as part of the Retrochallenge 2011 Winter Warmup. It has an attractive aesthetic and it is on MS-DOS, so check it out for a minute or two. The above photo is linked to a Java version of the game (http://www.deathshadow.com/pakuPakuLive), but you can also download the game (http://www.deathshadow.com/downloads/paku_1_6.zip) and play it either on an old PC that runs DOS or use DOSBOX on your modern PC/Mac (I assume Mac can run DOSBOX). I figured this kind of thing was worth sharing in the Classic Computer Gaming forum, so here you are hypothetical interested parties. Below are some links for Paku Paku:

Not all that accurate, but pretty fun to play (and definitely no worse than the hundreds of other clones that are out there).

I love the DOS release, but I think Java releases are a good idea. Very low cost of entry, you know? No worrying about setting up a DOS machine or DOSBox or any of that.

I'm with you, Flack. I'd be lying if I said that I ran this on a DOS machine or on DOSBOX. The Java game was just right there waiting to be played with zero hassle. Still, it's cool to know that you could play it on a DOS machine if you wanted.

Really guys? Java over DOS? I'm glad it was released in its current form.
