i already have a 360, but was wondering if you think a ps3 is worth buying just for exclusive titles? I'm worried that i buy a ps3 now and then ps4 would be around the corner.

also if yo had a choice between a Wii and a 3DS, which has the better library of games? Combine DS games as well as 3DS

Sure. In my opinion, Valkyria Chronicles alone is worth it. Uncharted 2 and 3 are great, Siren: Blood Curse is the best console Survival Horror game this generation, Infamous 1 and 2 are pretty good fun, and of course, Little Big Planet and the superior sequel are amazing. So there you go.

While we're at it, I'd bet money that we don't see a PS4 before the 2013 holiday season, earliest, and more likely than that is 2014. Consider also that there's no guarantee of backwards compatibility with a new Playstation. It's a great Blu-Ray player and a good media server. Just don't expect miracles in the online department, and prepare yourself for ridiculously frequent updates that WILL interfere with your game time.

It really doesn't sound like you have much knowledge of any of these systems. May I ask why you're interested and considering a purchase? I'd suggest doing some research on the features and libraries of the currently or soon to be available handhelds and consoles on the market and make your own decision on what, if anything, you want after conducting that research. Adding a system to your shelf for the sake of adding a system seems rather stupid to me. Investigate these and if one catches your eye due to things like some really interesting games that you'd want to play, start considering a purchase at that point (You seem to be doing the entire thing backwards by considering purchasing a system with seemingly no knowledge on things like what games you would like to even play on them).

Although this seems like a pointless exercise to me, I personally think the PS3's exclusives justified the system for me (It's the reason, along with Blu-Ray and upscaling DVD capabilities, that I bought it for since I stick with the 360 for multiplatform gaming). And of course the PS3 is in its twilight years. After all, it has been out for half a decade and anyone with even a passing knowledge of this industry realizes at this point that it is closer to the end of its journey than it is to its beginning. But at the earliest, you can expect to have a good 20 months or so before a successor is released (Although I personally think we will see the PS4 be released in the Fall of 2014 which would give you a good 30 months or so with the PS3 serving as Sony's premier game console).

And of course, the Wii has the better library than the 3DS. The 3DS has been on the market for less than a year while the Wii has now been out there for over 5 years. So common sense dictates that it naturally has the better portfolio of games to enjoy. Adding in the DS library with the small existing library of 3DS games changes up the equation. I'd still be inclined to give the Wii the edge if I had to pick one right now based on currently available games (The DS was a bit of a disappointment coming off the GBA for me, and many of Nintendo's classic 1st party series like Mario and Zelda saw much more love on the Wii than they did on the DS). But the 3DS has years more of excellent releases ahead of it while the Wii's boiler is just about out of steam.

So with the future of the 3DS in mind and including DS releases, I'd say it has more fun to offer than the Wii has (Although if we include GCN games here, the Wii re-enters the race). Still, I don't see how any of this is going to help you, but those are my opinions based on my own taste in games and my own experiences with these platforms. So if you want to buy based on my own opinions instead of you forming your own opinions, there you go. But I recommend you discover for yourself (Find some top 10 list for each platform and look up some videos of each game, for one example of how to get started on discovering what all these systems have available to offer and what you think you want).

I suggest only buying another system if you have the time to commit to another system. I recently bought a PS3, but I haven't been playing it as much as I should be, given the price.

I play my PS3 just as much as the 360. I usually reserve online gaming for the 360, but I did enjoy taking Resistance 2 online.

I would highly recommend the 1st Uncharted, along with Resistance 2, Killzone 2/3, 3D Dot Game Heroes and Super Stardust. The rest has already been mentioned.

I recently bought one just for Gran Turismo 5 and what I hope will be Tekken Tag Tounament 2. However, I knew there were other exclusive titles that I would get as well. There are also games that are considered better on the PS3 than the 360 and vice versa. You just need to see if there are enough games on the system that you will like to justify buying it. Also, don't forget that it is one of the best Blu Ray players out there as well.

Yakuza 3, 4, Dead Nation(PSN,) and Demon's Souls have yet to be mentioned. Heavy Rain is good, although you may or may not get multiple playthroughs of it, because it's mainly story based. Everything else listed already is pretty good. I'd like to second the Uncharted series, Infamous series, LBP2, Valkyria Chronicles, and Siren the Blood Curse.

It's absolutely worth getting a PS3 for the exclusives! Metal Gear Solid 4, God of War 3, Infamous 1 and 2, and all of the Uncharted games are amongst the best games of this console generation.

I definitely think it's worth getting for exclusvies such as Metal Gear Solid 4, Gran Turismo 5, God of War 3, Infamous 1 and 2, Little Big Planet 1 and 2, Valkeryia Chronicles and there are tons more, It's a great system and I think the PS4 will be out end of 2013 but that's when it seems like microsoft will be out with there new system as well.

I have three PS3's and the system is absolutely worth owning for the exclusives as long as you can find it for a good price. I have most of it's well-known exclusives but don't play the system as much a I would like. But for the price I paid for all three systems it's still more than worth it to me to own for exclusives. However, this is in dire need of repeating:

prepare yourself for ridiculously frequent updates that WILL interfere with your game time.

Most of us here who are 20 or older have a job(atleast one), a social life(family and friends) and a limited amount of free time to devote to our various hobbies such as gaming, tv, reading and music. While some people's schedules are more extreme than others, you really need to factor in an extra 20 minutes or so for PS3 updates, especially for online games. If you only have an hour to play a PS3 game, turn that system on before you actually want to start playing, put the game disc in and let the updates start so that you can get as much play time in as possible.

I completely forgot about the Killzone and Resistance games. Both great shooters, although I prefer the Killzone games.

This is only an issue if you intend to play online. Some of us don't, and there's no need to ever run an update in that instance, save if a game requires newer firmware than you're running, which is likely to be only once every few months.

In a perferct world your suggestion would be ideal. But there are still instances like Skyrim, a single player game that was launched as a buggy/glitchy mess. The updates/patches helped fix that but the initial ones also brought a few more bugs. Granted this isn't always the case but single player games can also need updates(more frequent than regular firmware updates) due to how lazy developers have gotten this generation with their over-reliance on patches.

There are just as many updates for the same games on the 360 as there are on the PS3. The PS3 downloads updates probably 80% the speed of the 360. So while it's slower, some people are blowing the speed decrease out of proportion. Except for wireless. Wireless is very slow on the PS3.

The PS3 also has firmware updates probably once every two/three months on average. So it's not everytime you turn your system on how some people like to make it out to sound like.

I have both systems, and use my Ps3 mainly for blu ray watching. I think the only exclusives I own are MGS4, Heavy Rain, and Little Big Planet. It is sometimes nice to play a ps1 game without getting out my old fliptop and searching for memory cards, but honestly I think its not worth it as most of the exclusives like God of war im just not into. ( i dont know I hate something about those types of games )

However, if you dont already have a blu ray player, have some $$ and want a sick player that also plays a few games go for it.

Many good titles here, but imo Heavy Rain and Heavenly Sword are the true masterpieces to come out of the whole crop, sure the others are great, these two just took it a bit further and demonstrated how cinematic gameplay can be made very VERY well.

Both still give me goosebumps cause they are that moving.

No love for Disgaea 3 and 4 anyone? When I wish Vandal-Hearts: Flames of Judgment had been a longer game, these two games fill the need for more tactical RPG playing.

I would say so, the well known PS3 exclusives typically get an 80ish score or better through both user and critic scores and cover a wide range of titles.

I can personally suggest these as games I had a lot of fun with just off the top of my head.

Killzone 2
Killzone 3
Little Big Planet 1
Metal Gear Solid 4
Valkyrie Chronicles
Disgaea 3
Warhawk

There are many many other PlayStation 3 exclusives that I simply have yet to play, but these are some of my favorite games of this console generation.
