ps3 whoa as me

Just got a ps3 for christmas. It likes to log me off every 10 mins or so. I cant log back in unless I shut it off and start it back up. I'm wired in and all ports should be open. I'm confused and a little ashamed.

Try using the wireless to see if it has the same problem.

Are you connected through a router? It might be the ethernet port it's running through. It also might be the ethernet cable. I'd say try a different port. If that doesn't work try a different ethernet cable. If neither of those work and still has the same problem run it directly from the modem to the PS3. If it works fine like that then you might want to just get a new router. I'd recommend a wireless modem, but if you don't want to pay for one, then the Linksys Wireless N router is good.

I admit, it can be graphically impressive at times. And as an upsampling DVD player you'll find no better for the price.

In the correct context it would be woe, but since this problem has literally taken me aback several times, it sounds more like Keanu's Whoa. So everyone in this topic (excluding me) is rong.

Did you get your problem fixed? Sometimes my PS3 doesn't detect the ethernet cord the first time I plug it in and I have to unplug it and replug it and then it works. It's not the cord or router, since I use the exact same one with my 360 and original Xbox, just swapping the cord when I use something else. So maybe next time your problem crops up, instead of a reboot, try just unplugging and replugging the cable.
