Hey guys, I was just looking at my saturn collection, and I always known it was there...but just started thinking about it recently. I've owned probably 3 different copies of Astal over the years and every copy is missing the name from the spine of the case. I've never seen any other game have a blank spine. So my question...does anyone know if this was just a big portion of them? Has anyone ever seen one with the name on the spine? I tried google searching for info..but no luck. Also while on the topic...can you think of any other games (saturn or other) with a missing name on the spine?

Astal is the only game with a blank spine, and all copies are that way, as far as I know.

I just printed out a small color label & slid it down the spine of my copy :)

That's not entirely correct.

Astal is the only Saturn game without the name on the spine. But BC Racers on the Sega CD also has no name on the spine.

I think that's what gameofyou meant... the only Saturn game without a name on the spine.

What I understand is that since Astal was among the first games released on the Saturn, due to the systems high price and Astal being a new IP it didn't sell through its initial production run. Therefore Sega never had an opportunity to correct the spine because there was never a second run of the game.

City Crisis for the PS2 has no name on the spine.

Yeah, sorry, I thought we were only talking about Saturn games. That's what I meant.

Thanks for the reply guys...it's pretty sad this game never got to see a 2nd production..its a beautifully made game. I was hoping there was a "spined copy" to make it a fun hunt for me to find :P

Lol, it's funny you brought this up because BC Racers was the exact game I thought of when this was mentioned. BC Racers also has the glorious edited/unedited versions as well.
