Freeloader-type devices for PS2?

I'm not really big on imports, mainly because I can't read Japanese and I lack the soldering skills needed to mod my systems, but there are a few foreign PSX titles I want to get. Is there a device like the Freeloader available for PS2? I thought the Gameshark people made one, but I can't find any info about it online.

Nobody knows of any? So the only way to play imports on a PS2 is to solder-in a mod chip?
