I played through the demo, it's pretty long and enjoyable with lots of exploration for a demo. I think i'll be purchasing this on day 1.

Looks like it generates a save file that may unlock stuff in the full game too!

Thanks for the heads up. I checked on Xbox Live, and there's also a downloadable demo for 360, available to Gold Members. Looking forward to trying it out! :D

I played through it and was impressed as it reinforced my decision to order the Special Edition.

The changes to the battle system just improved on something I already loved about the last game, and at first glance it looks like the Crystalarium is going to be a less linear path as well in the full game which is a big plus. The addition of jumping meant nothing since it only really came into play when the game wanted you to do it with its prompt..just like the last game. However the addition of NPCs and the way they behaved was pretty cool and conversations were handled well. I could see MOG getting annoying and its own home grown quicktime events could get old after a while but other then that everything seemed very well done. I think the game ran a bit choppier then 13 but that's just a minor gripe that would probably limited to the demo area.

Just another game that is designed for 300 pound autistic girls and castrated 90 pound weakling momma boy pedophiles. If you buy this game then you're announcing to the world that you're going to be a life-long virgin and that you fantasize about having sexual relations with small children.

Man, you're terrible at pegging stereotypes. I'm a 300 pound castrated autistic mommas boy and I'm rather looking forward to this game.

The FFXIII-2 demo was pretty fun from what I've played. I like the aspect that I can collect and use monsters for battle strategy instead of collecting some random BP points or something.

From what I've played, XIII-2 isn't for me. But it's cool to see that strategy-oriented gamers like the game, at least from the demo standpoint. :)

Same goes for me. Maybe I've been away from FF games for too long and just can't get into them again but it's just not for me anymore...except for some earlier ones :)

You're trying too hard. Be more subtle next time, it'll work better.

I was ready to hate this game (Snow and Hope, the two characters I absolutely despised, are the only ones coming back? Screw that!) but the demo was a lot better than I was expecting. Guess I'll give it a shot.

I don't get it, what's the story about? I finished FFXIII and didn't really see how they could make a sensible sequel with how the story ended.

Then again, I played the whole game thinking the little planet with the evil government was hollow and all the cities were inside it, so what do I know?

I'm sorry but after being spoiled on Xenoblade & The Last Story.
FFXIII and FFXIII-2 these games by comparison is utter trash. It's hard to go from such solid gameplay mechanics and story to a such broken games like FFXIII and FFXIII-2.

completely off topic, but how was lost odyssey? this generation, i've only played 2 jrpgs, ff13 which i thought fucking sucked, but to be fair never gave it a fair chance, im only on like the 5th chapter and resonance of fate which i abandoned 10 hours in when i realized every single fucking battle was the same thing over and over again and story went nowhere, i need to experience at least one good jrpg this generation to restore my faith, i can already tell ff13-2 isnt for me but have no real complaints from the demo

so uhhh lost odyssey...yay or nay?

Lost Odyssey was actually really good. The load times for the battles were pretty excessive though.

But I really enjoyed XIII, I thought it built well on the battle system from XII, although the characters were all pretty flat.

Lost Odyssey is on-par with FFX in terms of gameplay and technical feats. It plays like a good PS2 RPG. Pretty impressive, considering that it's the first foreign title to use the Unreal 3 Engine, and even more impressive considering that UE3 isn't exactly built for JRPGs...

The characters in Lost Odyssey are a step above FFXIII in terms of story-relevance. Squenix seems to be telling Nomura to doodle some spiky-haired teenagers without telling him what the story's going to be about. I think Sakaguchi's team wrote a story before designing the characters, so they fit better. The battle system doesn't really innovate very much, but that's actually a strength this generation, at least the way I see it.
