Animaniacs Ten Pin Alley PS1

I tried GameFAQs, but they didn't have anything for this one. I can't seem to figure out how to make the character actually bowl. I tried pressing all sorts of buttons and all I do is foul. Is there someone here who knows how to play this one or can guide me to an online instruction manual for this one?

I recently just figured this out. You have to stop the top and bottom meter when it reaches the yellow part.

Cool, I tried this and it seems to work OK, I foul out a lot less than I used to (about once or twice per game I seem to not do it right and get an F on the scorecard). The control scheme and controls just to seem a bit wonky for this game, at least for me.
