The "No Hope Left" ad campaign spotted in a variety of locations across Europe has been pinned to -- shock! -- Capcom. At least that's according to The Sixth Axis (http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2012/01/18/exclusive-no-hope-left-is-capcom/), whose intrepid reporter schlepped down to the Vauxhall station in London after seeing an image pop up from there pop on the viral ad campaign's website. He spotted an ad company (Primesight (http://www.primesight.co.uk/)) credited for the faux graffiti and emailed them to confirm who had bought said ad, to which he was told, "Panel number is 2375 03 Parry Street. The company advertising on it is CAPCOM."

This makes a lot of sense, given the "O" in "No" looking very much like a stylized biohazard symbol (the name of the Resident Evil series in Japan). It would also not be surprising at all for a video-game company to post adverts marauding as graffiti (http://www.joystiq.com/2005/11/17/sony-psp-advertising-hits-the-streets/), though we doubt this will draw as much ire (http://www.joystiq.com/2005/12/03/sonys-fony-graffiti-sparks-lashback/) as previous attempts. Either way, it looks like we'll find out more tomorrow, as the ads all point to a reveal on January 19, 2012. Here's hoping tomorrow doesn't accidentally coincide with the real zombie apocalypse. Boy would that be a lot of egg on Capcom's face, eh?

Capcom you helped raise me as a kid and treated me with love. But then not long ago you took a sudden turn for the worse. You got addicted then your best friends left you. You said you were still the same but then you kicked out Clover and Inafune left and you teased us Mega Man and took it away. You continue to tease him but pull away.

Until you go to rehab and get clean I no longer know you.

Assuming the image here is accurate, it doesn't even look like graffiti. Those PSP ones did, though.

Resident Evil 6 looks badass. They're going back to the point of view of multiple characters, and it even looks like one character has different gameplay. If you look at 2:00-2:05, it looks like that might be in game gameplay and looks like a beat em up with the character that sounds to be infected but immune to the virus.

Looks like a logical extension of the action packed #5, which I heartily enjoyed. Still, the start of that trailer had my imagination going for a super tense, conspiracy-flavoured survival horror romp with Leon in a zombie infested White House. That'd run the risk of being too true to the spirit of the series, though.

So? Gears ripped a lot of its ideas out of RE4. So sayeth CliffyB. WE'RE NOT STEALING IT, WE'RE TAKING IT BACK. So sayeth Capcom. Plus, Fuck tank controls. They're indefensible.

RE5 was a lot of fun. Sign me up for RE6.
