I admit I have not played them all, My experance had only been limited
to the Genesis titles and the SMS/GG roms I've download. I even played
a friends copy of Sonic for the GBA. Although Sonic for the GBA comes
in at a close second, I say my favorite Sonic game of all time is:
SONIC and KNUCKLES for the Genesis

They give you so much eye candy in that game, besides its not a game
you can just breeze through. You really got to think when you play that
game. Anyway what is your favorite Sonic title from Sonic #1 on the
Genesis to the present Sonic DX for the Gamecube. What is your favorite
Sonic game to play.

Also...and I know this seems dumb but I can't get any tip site to post
this but...Has anyone else discovered that 3rd path to the Chemical
Plant zone boss in Sonic #2 for the Genesis. The one that starts just
past those 2 moving blocks on the upper route to the boss. That leads
to a very very upper route.

I'm also a huge fan of Sonic & Knuckles! Does Knuckles Chaotix count in this forum? (though I think everyone hates that game but me) :-D

Sonic CD and Sonic 2 have always been my favorites. A slight edge to Sonic CD for the music.

I would have to say the very first Sonic on the Genesis. It was also available for the SMS, but I never actually saw it for sale around here. My very first Sonic encounter was on the Genesis, and I just absolutely loved it. Now I have the Sonic Mega Colllection for the Cube, and it has this version along with almost every other sequel (except Sonic CD) and I am once again loving it :)

YES all Sonic games count even Knuckles Chaotic.

Let me be more specific about that upper path. Like I said on the upper
route to the boss just past the moving blocks. Now as you can
easily miss this carefully look for a bit of open sky as you move past the
blocks. The ceiling will suddenly go up and disappear, that is where the
upper path starts. Although I used a Game Genie jump code to get up
there and to your left by the way. It is not impossible to jump up there
although to will need a running start. But if you have Sonic & Knuckles
link the 2 and use Knuckles to check it out. You will find at least 120
rings and an invincible power up. From there go right on a path that
will lead you to the boss. Quick note the path down leads to a drop off
that will place you nearby the boss.

Anyone who needs help with this hidden path please feel free to PM me

I say Sonic CD and then Sonic 2. Sonic CD was just amazing and Sonic 2 has a special place in my heart...by the time 3 came out...I dunno...it just didn't do anything for me.

Oooh tough question, for me personally though it's the combined Sonic 3+Knuckles quest, me and my brother played that co-op for hours - amazingly fun.
