Okay day today.
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2012-02-08a.jpg
Sim City 4 Deluxe for Mac - $3
Arthur Fiedler & The Boston Pops Play The Beatles - $2
PlusTV HD 120 PCI tuner card - $5
I took a gamble on that card, there are no official Windows 7 drivers but hopefully it'll work with the Vista ones.
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2012-02-08b.jpg
Various Artists / Sommer Kracher - $1 (new)
Blue Mitchell Sextet / Blue Soul - free
Dallas Doctor / Manhattan - $1 (new)
Conker's Bad Fur Day - $2
I got that Blue Soul CD from an acquaintance of mine that goes to the flea market. She's a buyer from the San Diego area, she buys stuff down here to resell over there. We've chatted about our particular musical tastes over a while now and last week I gave her a selection of stuff on CD-R... and she brought this to me this week.
Sommer Kracher is... a German promo CD. For eBay. Yeah. No idea what's up with this, but it has what I think is a cover of Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb so I expect horrible things.
Dallas Doctor was the weird CD of the day. I found Conker as soon as I got to the flea market, it was buried under a bunch of DVDs and "For Your Consideration" DVD sets.
Now the stupid part of the trip... that booth where I found that eBay CD had a ton of N64 games. So I look at them and ask for a price. The girl says $15... I pause for a second and reply "... each?" She says yes and I walk off. What the hell is wrong with these people...

I finally made it out again today, but it's still gotta be cheap and quick. That mess of crap is almost more trouble than it's worth. If only I was selling the SMS games...
Anyway:
http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n629/ConneticutLeatherCompany/gkids001-24.jpg
$5 for Shadow, $2 for Oddworld, $1 for the SW Micro Machines... Only the box and the 2 base pieces are there, but still, it's a buck. .25 whole cents for the Flight Sim stuff. And for Kitsune's amusement, the oddball VHS tape was .40:

That flightstick is $20 at my local store in a beat up box, is it worth anything?
I'm not a Playstation collector so I couldn't tell you, but it looks pretty cool so I'd say maybe? Looks pretty damn big so probably a hassle to resell and ship though. I managed to add pics to my original post if anyone wanted to see.

I used to collect these (in fact I think this one was the last one I purchased). Unfortunately I don't think that you'll get much for that, although you might be able to move it if someone is looking to complete their collection of And 1 mixtapes. For a while some of the earlier tapes, specifically volume 1, were pretty valuable. Volume 1 focused on Rafer Alston, aka Skip To My Lou, a player who eventually made it to the NBA and found success.
In fact, he's been one of my favorite players since I saw that tape. =P

And then, I drop $125 on this to my board game guy. He got these at last week's auctions:

Dunno what to value the CDi games at... any help there would make me smile...
Thankfully, quite a few of these are extras, so I can get most my money back.

The PlayStation Analog Joystick (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abL3kTt9Tug) isn't all that valuable due to the size and weight, which makes it difficult to ship. However it is an awesome controller and works spectacularly well for the Colony Wars games, Treasures of the Deep, Descent, Mechwarrior 2, and quite a few other games. You could do a lot worse for $20, which is fair price. I'd grab it if you play any of the above games.
The Dual Analog CONTROLLER (the small one) works well for games with tank controls (Resident Evil, Dino Crisis, etc.) as you can set the analog stick to function in digital mode. However for games originally designed for the Analog JOYSTICK, the stick mode on the controller doesn't work all that great due to the differences in throw distance between a thumbstick and a joystick.

I didn't have a lot of time today but I stopped by a few places on my trip to Wal-Mart. Not going to bother with a picture though.
1 yellow Nintendo 64 controller - $2
1 gray N64 controller - $2
1 PSone power adapter - free (lady rung it up with one of the controllers, no objections from me)
3 N64 commons - $2 each (for bundles)
1 rumble pack - $3
Simpson's PS3 game - $3
Silver GameCube controller - $2
Earthworm Jim Genesis - $3
Mario Kart Double Dash - $2 (scratched but I can probably buff it out)
Oh, and apprently 3 fl. oz bottles of Goo Gone go for $4-5 each on eBay. My local dollar store has over a dozen of them. I'll grab any remaining bottles on my way back Sunday. I have to start paying attention in Dollar Stores more because you can find some nice items for eBay resales. I bought one to take price stickers off of some Saturn games that need to go in the Post tomorrow.

Is a $2-3 per bottle profit margin really worth the hassle of sending a combustible liquid in the mail?

As a lot sale (5-6+ bottles), absolutely. I don't have a day job so those dollars here and there add up over the course of a month. With the Goo Gone, I can probably sell those at the local flea market and not even have to worry with eBay though.

You want to double your money on one of those MK7's you just lmk!! Sadly, I bought Dream Trigger when it was still $30 and it's just not fun - at all. I thought it would be a 3D shooter, and I guess it is, but it's - weird, and not fun.

Have you ever played Geometry Wars and is it anything like that? That’s what I thought of looking at it and I liked GW so I picked it up, but haven’t played or looked too deep into it.

I can let one go I’ll send you a PM.
This place had about 25 MK7’s when I started watching them at 60% off, then at 70% off they went down to about 10, if work wasn’t in my way I could have got more but I didn’t get there till 6:00PM and the two were all I could find. I’m going to another location I know about after work to see what I can find in the 80~90% off.
Also Hudson’s has an eBay store now (http://www.ebay.com/sch/ccmllc20/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=50&_trksid=p3686) looking through it makes me sad and reminds me what the brick and mortars once were.

I've had a few of them, paid 10-20 at flea markets..Well $20.00 when I thought this thing would be a for sure sale on ebay and another I planned to use..I also liked the size as I feel it's alomost up there with the Steel Battalion controller.I used to display one with my Steel Battalion controller..
Selling it on ebay due to size in or out of box was a pain with shipping cost(USPS) ..I just could not sell them at 5 bux..I would up selling them to the DP store for like a buck and they didn't really want them as they take up so much room..Everytime I visited the store I'd see the unboxed controller there..
If I see them now for even 5 bux I pass...If the box was super nice, never opened I might spring the 5 bux,,again they just seem to cost to much to ship to ever sell.
Cool to have if your collecting though..

Well now my internet is finally stable, I can post about my find of the year so far, and best find of the last couple. I am up late last Wed night, and I notice a post on CL about 3am or so, for a SNES lot for 40 bucks. System, and games, just a small picture. But on the top row on the very end, I notice what looks like earthbound, I do some enhancement on the pic and sure enough it was. So I e-mail the guy ASAP, fully expecting the lot to be gone. He contacts me about 7:30 and says its available still. We make plans to meetup after he gets off work. Then he e-mails me right after and said there was a mistake and it was supposed to be 20$. at this point I am like this is too good to be true.
I meet him at McDonalds, and he hands me a bag with the system, and a plastic tub with the games. In it was earthbound in excellent shape a little wear on top lable but otherwise perfect. And the following games-
Super Mario All-Stars
Zelda:ALTTP
Gradius III
Donkey Kong Country
Super Mario World 2:Yoshi's Story
Chuck Rock
Madden 95
Starfox
Vegas Stakes
Super Mario World
Race Drivin
Ultimate MK3
Jurassic Park
Troy Aikman Football
Super Caesar's Palace
Yes I am selling them all, I would love to keep the lot, but I had earthbound back in the day, and beat it, and the profit margin is just to yummy not to.
Also picked up the same day at a pawn shop-
Mario and Luigi Inside Story- 5.00 Complete
Kirby Superstar Saga- 7.50 Complete
And I broke my no full price new release mantra picking up Kingdom of Amalur.

I went flea market shopping today, didn't get anything. This area had a cold front come in, and a lot of shop owners didn't bother to open up knowing they weren't going to get much business. But on the way to the flea market, I saw a Shinobi arcade cabinet for sale. I didn't stop and ask how much it was, mainly because (A) I either couldn't have afforded it since the very few times I come across arcade games for sale they're always far too high, (B) regardless of how much it cost I wouldn't be able to fit it in my car anyway, (C) I've played the original Shinobi but haven't got that much desire to own it, and (D) don't have room for an arcade cabinet, since that'll get me on a collecting path for more of them.

Cold as heck here too, and just got colder throughout the day... I went to the dirt mall at a quarter to ten this morning and sellers were already packing up and leaving, they had it with the cold. Didn't find much, but a blue GBC with a missing battery case for fifty cents. Upon powering it on, I found the start and select buttons didn't work, but a quick reseating of the contacts and they worked just fine.

I'm thinking about selling there in a week or two. Only problem is the weather right now; Winter arrived late this year.
Anyway, I picked up a few things this weekend while I was visiting family members:
vintage Craftsman ratchet with several sockets - $15 (this is for me but it's hard to beat a deal like that)
A boxed Wico Command Control for Atari (if someone wants this, let me know) - $2
A boxed Radio Shack "On-The-Ear Headset" for "Telephone". Too cool to pass up for a dollar fifty. Probably worthless but I love old electronic crap.
Some various clothing items to resell - ~$20
Not enough to even take pictures of. Did however receive some free goodies from my uncle who was cleaning up his garage, including an early 90's Kenwood audio system. That's going in my room eventually.

This is from the past week or so. The Ultraracer 64 was $5. I got a lot of N64 racing games. Those were $12 for those four, and Chameleon Twist was $8. The Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy was $5.
I heard that Lost Kingdoms was good as well as slightly rare, so I bought a copy on eBay. It was $20, shipped. I've played a bit, it is actually pretty fun.

Picked up World of Warcraft Collector's Edition for $28 or so after tax, at Goodwill. Got it home only to realize it's missing the art book. If anyone has one they want to trade (or sell for the right price), let me know. I might just toss this up on Amazon for $99 and just state it doesn't have the book (since there are several people selling the book for $23+shipping). I don't want to invest that much in this myself, tho.

The other items in the package (the CD, the map, and whatever trinket it might have included) might be worth it to someone on eBay though. On an open auction.

There's a map and a soundtrack as well as a sealed DVD (I guess) detailing the making of the game and other stuff of that nature, so I'd assume people want more than just the book. As I said, the book is for sale by itself on Amazon for $28 or so shipped, so that can't be the whole reason for the price (since the whole thing is selling for $120 on Amazon).

Yeah Nomad is one weird morbidly interesting novelty. The battery pack not only has poor life, but adds even worse ergonomics to an already bulky system.
Besides using its full potential just at home is wasteful... CDX renders Nomad plain obsolete for that. Supporting 32X and Power Base Converter without mods (or killing your hands trying to carry them around), on top of Sega CD and your own choice of player 1 controller.

Well, uh kinda like that I guess. Looking for a fun shooter, I recently picked up Nano Assault which is a lot more fun and is a good combo/ripoff of Super Stardust HD and Super Mario Galaxy. That's the best "shooter" I've found on the 3DS so far.

Got a few authentic gaming posters. I would be really appreciative if anyone could help me figure out their past, these are all really cool.
First one is a fire emblem poster, guessing it's from Japan. In one corner it says ©1996,1999 Nintendo, ©1999 INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS, and in the other corner TKCA 71705
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb448/junkyrdsalesman/IMG_0064-1.jpg
Next Up is a cool little Jade Cocoon poster, the bottom is a little cut off unfortunately. It's double sided but i didn't take pics of the other side before it went on my wall.

Finally is a poster i've had for quite some time now but i figured i'd group it here to help reveal it's origin. This massive Shadow Hearts poster looks like it might have been hung in a gamestop or such. In one corner it says J-0410. It's odd because it looks commercial rather than promotional, but it has a RP sign

Yeah, it's sealed, but there's no copies of this on eBay. It doesn't even say which version it is.
Also, I spent way more on comics than on the other stuff, hence the "I spent way too much today" comment. What makes this worse is that the Muddy Waters booklet is completely stuck due to moisture, and the 21 Jump Street CD appears to be unrippable! Augh!

Yeah, it's sealed, but there's no copies of this on eBay. It doesn't even say which version it is.

Looks like it is Microsoft Office 4.1 or 4.2. Note the Microsoft Money 3.0 sticker. That was the last Money for Windows 3.1 and Office 4.2 was the last Office for the same OS. They are dirt common. Probably worth $5-10 to the right buyer.
Edit: Ebay's search sucks, use Google instead.

I found a sealed Tecmo Super NBA Basketball for the Genesis. The seal isn't perfect, but it's still new. Any idea if this is worth anything? I recall certain sealed Genesis games being worth something a while back.

Sports games are rarely ever worth anything with the rare exception being certain licensed titles like some of Disney's Gamecube sports titles or(speaking of Gamecube) under printed sports titles like NCAA 2K3. Your game is probably worth $10 at best.

But we had a thread where we were all surprised at how valuable certain sealed Genesis games were.

Were any of them sports titles besides that one soccer game?

I think a sealed copy sold awhile back for $40 as a buy-it-now but that was probably a fluke, that was listed on videogamepricecharts but the auction link is dead. I can find feedback left for the game on ebay but the selling price isn't listed there, I can only see it on videogamepricecharts which might not be accurate.

Ya, figured as much. I'll probably throw it up for auction for $10 or so and see if anyone bites on it.

I went to a few thrift stores and found the following:
Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix for $15.00 (CIB game and loose mat) - The mat seems to be rarer than the game itself. I've only seen the mat in wild one other time.
Pokemon Electronic Pokedex for $1.50 - I remember wanting one of these as a kid. It's modeled after the Ruby and Sapphire Pokedex. It has a Pokedex mode, a mini-game mode, and it talks too.

Today I bought:
Magic The Gathering: Battlemage (PS1)
A Zip 250MB three disk pack
EL INCREIBLE PROFESOR ZOVEK (DVD)
No pictures other than this:

Anyway it was $5 for everything. My two main sources of stuff at the flea market didn't show up today. :(

I haven't been able to really hunt in the wild for over a year, but visiting my family means I can get my fix. :) Most of my stops so far haven't been fruitful, but I had a good day a week or so ago when I found stuff to buy at both stops I made that day. It's nothing that anybody will be that impressed by, but here's what I picked up:
http://inverteddungeon.com/triacesuperfan/storage/finds021512.jpg
All of the games (Tiny Toons: Buster Busts Loose and Uniracers for SNES, Iggy's Reckin' Balls for N64, and Solar Jetman w/ manual, Burgertime, Kung Fu Heroes, Shadow of the Ninja, and Yoshi for NES) were 2.50 a piece.
Then I hit a N64 guide bonanza (Donkey Kong 64, Banjo-Tooie, Bomberman 64, Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire) for 99 cents a piece (with one being free), and the Kingdom Hearts 2 guide was 2.99. The Ocarina of Time guide I left behind because I already have it is probably worth more than the guides I did pick up, but, meh, I don't think it's worth enough to bother reselling.

It's really too bad Playstations (and Gamecubes) are worth zilch.
At least you got it cheaper than shipping! :)

So true. I saw a Gamecube the other day for $10 and didn't jump on it just because I knew I'd probably never make the cash back on it if I tried to sell it.

My Goodwills are filled with 4-10 PS1's a piece but theres no way I'd pick them up for $10-20 each. Like theclaw said, PS1 and Gamecube systems are completely worthless. Ironically though both systems have several in-demand games.

I think a large factor is that both systems now have current gen consoles that are backwards compatible. Hence the reason I don't own a PS1 or PS2 or Gamecube. Too much space.

I've had better luck with PS1s where I am. A system with hookups, controllers, memory card, and some cheap disc only game can get around $20. I've sold several like this in less time than it usually takes me to sell stuff, but usually I don't bother buying systems anymore because the thrifts near me now charge about $8-$10 for a bare deck(instead of a complete system) and there's a chance it won't be working. I bought a loose SCPH-1001 last week but ended up returning it because it only barely worked when turned upside down, if this model was working properly it's worth around $30 with hookups and controllers. I've also tried to only buy systems that were modded, I just don't have that much space to store consoles until I get around to listing them and they do sell faster than non-modded ones. Non-modded ones still sold eventually.

I always check to see if PS2 or Xbox consoles at Goodwill are from Japan. I don't bother with PS1 or Gamecube because I have import convertors for both systems and can already play every US and Japanese game released for either system.

I found a Circle Pad Pro at GS (I've never heard of a GS exclusive peripheral before :?) I wasn't going to post about it, but apparently they've been put on back order for a few months and are going for $40+ on ebay ($19.99 at GS.)
Now I have to decide if I want to double up my money and wait for the second run or just keep it. I guess I'll know after the new RE get to my mailbox and I see how well it works.
