I found an official Sega Genesis 2 RF adapter the other day at Goodwill in the loose cable bin. Otherwise it's been dead for weeks, but I'm going to try to hit some bigger cities this weekend.

Mario Party 5 strategy guide $5
Xbox 360 For Dummies $5
100 Girls vhs 50 cents
The Crow vhs 50 cents
Star Wars Republic Commando: Hard Contact novel 50 cents
Super Mario Galaxy(Wii) $5
Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles(Wii) $5

Got most of this stuff from Goodwill with the exception of the games. Those were from craigs list and are in very good condition but I need new cases for them. The Star Wars novel is a direct sequel to the Xbox game(another video game novel) and picks up right after the ending. Since there was never(and probably never will be) a sequel this is the best we get. But it's cool since I like to read. Although I prefer dvds I picked up the vhs movies because they were cheap. As for the books, MP5 is in new condition and will serve a higher purpose. The 360 For Dummies book is very outdated because of how much the 360 changes every year but it will still make for an interesting read.

Happy Endings dvd $4
Cowboy Bebop : Complete Collection dvd set $4
Aquarion: Complete Series part 1 dvd set $4
Left 4 Dead 2(Pc) $4
Silent Scope: Complete(Xbox) $4
Myst: The Book of Atrus novel 50 cents
Hellgate: London Book 1 of 3 Exodus novel 50 cents
Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron(Psp) $4
Need For Speed: Underground(Psp) $4
Tron Evolution(Psp) $4
Rainbow Six Vegas(Psp) $4
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2(Psp) $4

It must have been $4 day. While some Goodwills do charge $4 for their adult dvds and games the ones near me usually only charge $3 each or atleast 2 for $6. But today both of them wanted to charge $4 for everything except the novels. It's no big deal since everything was still pretty cheap. All the Psp games look new and have hardly been touched. I've probably keep a few for myself. Again I picked up another Pc game despite constantly saying I won't pick up anymore. But lately both Goodwill and Target have had some really cheap Pc games and they are usually good titles like L4D2.

I never picked up any of the Silent Scope games back in the day so I'll use this to catch up. Hopefully it's backwards compatible. I was pleasantly surprised to see the dvd collections for such a cheap price. My main Goodwill charges $8 and up for them and one of the ones in the city actually charges $3 per disc so this six disc set would have cost $18 there. I don't know anything about Aquarion but Cowboy Bebop is one of my favorite anime series of all time. So today wasn't bad but things do seem to be slowing up a bit.

Left 4 Dead 2(Pc) $4

Hopefully that Left 4 Dead 2 works. You have to register the game on Steam, if the key has been used then you can't install it. (But I found Portal 2 mere weeks after it was released, so hopefully it will work!)

I'll have to make a mention of that when I list it. Can an extra key be purchased if the one it comes with has already been used?

Star Wars - KotR - $4 (CIB)

when I got out of PC gaming, I sold all my games, including the ones linked to my steam account as a lot. I also included my steam account info though.

I hope thats only an issue for Steam games because that would suck for people that wanted to buy Pc games used.

No, other games have this issue. :( It depends on the game, some stuff has limited activations, other stuff has to be tied to a Games For Windows Live account... it's ridiculous. :(

Nice finds, RASK1904. Very nice.

I know the feeling. I had a find where I got Dragon Force, Albert Odyssey, Saturn Bomberman, and some other semi-rare Saturn titles for $3.33 apiece. I thought I'd never top that, but then I found some factory sealed NES games for about $30 apiece two years later.

I did a BIN on a new, minty copy of Arc The Lad Collection. This thing looks like it just came right out of the shipping case. No shelf wear either.

The seller sold 8 copies total which makes me think they had a case of these.

Almost forgot, the BIN was for $79.95.

I got it at http://riptapparel.com/

But this was back on the 9th. They do 1 t-shirt design a day, so this shirt has been sent to their "graveyard".

Looks like you can buy through the artist's e-commerce site: http://www.redbubble.com/people/ninjaink/collections/82573-video-games

He's got another kick ass looking Samus shirt and a couple cool Resident Evil shirts (Jill Valentine and Claire Redfield) all done in the Mucha style as well.

I've been super slack the last couple years posting finds. Last year possibly one of my better finds was a boxed, complete TG-16 system with several games including Ninja Spirit, Neutopia II, Blazing Lazers, and Devil's Crush among some others for $15 total. I also bought two Cruis'n Exotica sit-down arcade machines at great prices that have proven to be extremely popular. I was impressed with how many kids enjoyed playing the game, must be the cartoon graphics and unrealistic gameplay.

So more to now, I finally decided to pick up some Intellivision games so I actually have some on hand for gaming events. I still lack a system but they show up, just holding out for the right time to snag one at a better deal. All titles are just cartridges:
Armor Battle, Astrosmash, Basketball, Bowling, Boxing, Burger Time, Frog Bog, Night Stalker, Royal Dealer, Shark! Shark!, Sharp Shot, Space Armada, Space Battle, Space Hawk, and Sub Hunt.

Then a loose Genesis cartridge of Lightening Force: Question for the Darkstar.

Ninjaink has a ton of cool designs. I would have ordered that one from RIPT but I've sworn off buying shirts from them anymore since the quality is absolute ass. The printing is great but the shirts they use are just too lightweight for the thickness and quality of the print put on them. TeeFury or Shirt.woot run a similar business model and print on much higher quality shirts. If they pick up the design it's a no-brainer but I usually just order from redbubble anyway.

Damaramu

Ah, so Redbubble uses a better quality shirt?

That's good to know. We'll see how long this one lasts me. I'm pretty gentle with my clothes, so it should stick around for a while. And if it doesn't, well it was only a $10 to begin with.

I will be picking up those Jill and Claire shirts though.

Ok kiddies, sit back and enjoy a tale of Craigslist madness. The horror! The horror!

I spy an ad for a Japanese PS2 with four crappy games and a "PAL converter" for $40. So I email the guy, and we're going back and forth trying to figure out where and when to meet up. He's a bit of a bus ride away (tho this doesn't even come out until weeks later since he or I get busy with work and don't email back right away, or email with any substance). Then he emails me and says he will be in the U-District area and can I meet him around 7:30. And I'm thinking "Score!" cuz I'm off work at 6 and it's around an hour to an hour and a half bus ride home. He says he'll meet me in front of the Neptune Theater. So I get there and they are selling tickets to Big Head Todd and the Monsters. Never heard of that movie, but it sounds scary. So I wait and wait, call him a few times, he calls me a few times. Then he says to meet in front of Hotel Deca, which is across the street (it's the hotel SRGE was in last year). So I go over there and wait. Finally sick of waiting, it's 7:50, I call him again. "Are you wearing a grey jacket with a blue stripe?" I look up the street and see a guy on the phone carrying a silver box. Hm, don't think I've seen a PS2 box that looks like that. Maybe he just tossed it into an empty box he had on hand?

No, it's a PS1. It IS Japanese, and it's CIB, but not what I was hoping for. He shows me the games and two of em are bootlegs. I point this out, even tho I didn't care about the games to begin with. "I dunno, I bought these in Akihbara!" I point to the one he's holding that isn't a bootleg. No way the two look anything alike. Then he shows me the "PAL converter." I was wondering about this since Japan is NTSC as well, so no need for a box that converts signals from NTSC to PAL and vice versa, but I've needed one in the past, and they are kinda pricy. But no, it's something called a "Game Enhancer" that he says is how you can play a U.S. released game on the Japanese system. *face palm* Soooo... I'm hemmin' and hawin' over this stuff since it's not what I was thinking it would be and I'm not sure what any of it sells for... He suggests $30 instead of the $40 it was in the ad. SOLD!

I walked over to the Goodwill on the Ave and found a Gravitation box set and a GBA SP charger (but no system, and yeah this is why you find so many systems but no charger). They had a few other things that I thought about getting, and I'll post about it if they're still there when I go back.

I would have been dissappointed if it turned out to be a PS1 instead of the advertised PS2. But if I had to take a bus there I would have been even more pissed. That stuff isn't worth more than $20. I would have told his ass no and left. But I tend to be alittle more blunt than most people.

As was discussed a mere two pages ago in this thread used PS1's and Gamecube's are worthless. The boxes wouldn't add much value to them. And as far as it being Japanese, you can use an import converter to play every Japanese PS1 game on a US system, making the Japanese ones even less desirable. Thats not to say that there aren't collectors who are looking for that stuff. And you probably could sell a boxed PS1 for $20 just like I could sell a loose SMB/Duck Hunt cart for $20. Neither is worth that much but theres always people out there who will buy before comparing prices.

It would depend on which model it is for value, but complete PS1 systems are still worth money. Import systems are worth more than domestic systems, complete US systems seem to be around $20-$40.

Here's a complete Japanese PS1 system, sold for $60 plus shipping.

A complete US version of the same model as above sold for $30

And here's a complete US model SCPH-1001, sold for about $50. It doesn't even have the right controller.

There are just so many of them sitting around collecting dust at Goodwills and thrift stores. If they were worth some decent money I'd pick them up but if they are only going to bring $20 or so thats not worth it to me seeing as most are listed for $10-30 each. And I know that his system being an import will bring in alittle more money, especially online. But PS1's in general aren't in high demand.

Edit: He'll definitely be able to make his money back(like I already said, theres always collectors looking for that stuff) but I was looking at it as more of a disappointment of being promised an import PS2(which are hard to find around my area) and instead getting an import PS1(which my import convertor makes obselete to me).

Ugh true, my area isn't too good. I've mentioned before that there's sometimes zero NES cartridges on ebay under 15 miles of me. You'd expect the ubiquitous Super Mario Bros + Duck Hunt or insert baseball game title here. But nope.

Heck on ebay within that distance there isn't apparently even a single Halo OR Call of Duty OR Gears of War game.

However I did find an amazing grand total of exactly ONE Guitar Hero game! Wow. @_@

Not always true, it is very model dependent. It's probably true for 550x 750x and especially 900x. 700x units are actually quite hard to find in my area so that might marginally affect prices. PSones are definitely more than that due to size and the LCD addon. The 100x-5000 are much higher these days because of audiophiles competing with those who want to use certain guncons without a hard to find SCPH-1160 adapter, they also break due to a design flaw, go figure. a broken loose 1001 is about to end at $18. The SCPH-1000 seems to go for $80-150 shipped!

The main problem with PS1s is that it's common for them to fail or not work properly and since most seem to be beat up and untested at thrift stores I pass on most of them. If it's just a bare deck, I wouldn't bother trying to part it together as the loose hookups would add up to the normal cost of a complete system. Most loose decks now seem to be around $10 at the stores near me, that's what I would be willing to pay for a complete system(complete as in with hookups and controllers, not boxed). When I was looking for a modded system I picked several up just hoping to find one, that's how I had multiple systems to sell awhile back. I used to avoid all PS1s because I kept hearing that they were worthless, but after starting to collect for it and having experience selling off extra ones I've changed my opinion on them. I've noticed that working PS1s seem to sell better than Genesis systems where I am.

What's worse are the games. Unless you have high demand titles like RPGs or games like Metal Gear Solid or SOTN, they won't sell at all. The systems can still sell fine, but not most games. These I tend to avoid unless I know the title or want a game for myself, I rarely take chances on PS1 games.

It is disappointing when he lost out on the PS2, I would be upset if I met with a seller and what he brought was completely different from what I was supposed to be buying. Hopefully everything is working. As for PS1 import converters, if you get one modded to play burned games they can usually play imports too, it's not exactly that hard to find modded systems either. Import systems are usually just display pieces, not for actual use.

I have been seeing various models of the original Playstation console for $5-10 at most thrift stores, sometimes with cables and controllers. I have had issues with only one SCPH-1001 unit where the laser does not appear to work. Other than that, if you're not looking to resell it's a prime time to pick one up or grab a few spares for part swapping.

I hit the flea market late as getting the brakes fixed on the van became a FiascoDay started off with decent weather then just turned cold,I underdressed with just a hoody and froze my butt off ...I was in no mood after the brake fiasco for flea market vendor BS but needed the hunt..

I had a bet going..I must find something Elvis before I leave..

Found some badly yellowed muddy NES,and SNES system...didn’t bother to ask.
Found a stack of NES decks..loose $20.00 each..passed..
Found myself running out of this place as it got colder asking each vendor if they had something Elvis...Wow,though the whole day I didn’t find one Elvis item..The very last vendor I hit had records, one was a nice Elvis Album,$2.00...(I won the bet..

My dad had his girlfriends stuff in his vehicle and I had my Son Honda so not much room for big finds.

I visited a vendor I know who sells unique items,he had a load of 10 old cameras on the table None sold all day..I take a look at an old browning camera,as I’m looking at it a lady walks up quick and as soon as I lift my hand she snatches it..Whoa,knock me over already..I’m looking over two other cameras and she’s staring at me like,”give me that” so I buy one for $5.00,as she watches me in pay in anger I spin around on her and grab the other boxed camera for $5.00 an buy it too,she was pissed, yet all the other similar cameras on the table she didn’t look at..Just because I was looking she had to have them..

The BATMAN TV Theme record is pretty banged up but I had to buy it for $2.00

My dad bought a Directors Chair..

Friend came over Saturday night and brought me this stuff(gifts)

I went to go meet some friends who were selling game stuff and was to help out.(via game knowledge)
..I met this pretty cool gaming chic who was into Vampire type Games..I also met a game and system collector..I didn’t get a chance to go into DP during our convo but later found out that he lives right by the DP store and is a regular there..

Well... yeah, I'm broke but it was worth it.

First off, these are from Monday and Tuesday:
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2012-02-2021.jpg
The Archies meet Jugman / Dennis the Menace Cruise Control - $1 from the dollar store
Monsturd (sealed, but damaged artwork) - $1 from the flea market
Pikmin 2 (disc in poor condition, manual fine, artwork was folded over for some reason) - $5

Yeah, another Pikmin 2. But the disc... I'm not sure if it'll be playable or not. It looks like it will be, GC games are pretty tough, but the inner ring worries me. I don't intend to sell this one, but I want to trade it away. :)

As for today's finds...

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2012-02-22a.jpg
beat mania (PS1 PAL version, complete) - $4
Mega Man Legends (PS1 US complete, mint disc) - $5
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II (PC, complete) - $5
Office: Mac 2004 Home and Student - $2
Bert Williams / The Early Years 1901-1909 (CD, sealed) - $1.50
some random blues CD - free with the items below

And these. My jaw dropped at finding all of these. The seller had more but I really couldn't carry (or afford, friggin' deadbeat buyers) anymore.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2012-02-22b.jpg
Hero's Quest
Quest for Glory II: Trial By Fire
Quest for Glory III: Wages at War
Quest for Glory (IV): Shadows of Darkness
Conquests of Camelot
Rise of the Dragon

Leisure Suit Larry 1 remake
Leisure Suit Larry 3
Loom (complete WITH THE CASSETTE TAPE)
Night Shift
The Adventures of Willy Beamish
Wolfenstein: Spear of Destiny
Spellcasting 101: Sorcerers Get all the Girls

All of those for $35.

It would depend on which model it is for value, but complete PS1 systems are still worth money. Import systems are worth more than domestic systems, complete US systems seem to be around $20-$40.

Here's a complete Japanese PS1 system, sold for $60 plus shipping.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&item=280817816785&nma=true&rt=nc&si=Fg1oPrM5prh4xjS8D6OdJYwF%252BJg%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

A complete US version of the same model as above sold for $30

And here's a complete US model SCPH-1001, sold for about $50. It doesn't even have the right controller.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&hash=item53eb6fa673&item=360432248435&nma=true&pt=Video_Games&rt=nc&si=Fg1oPrM5prh4xjS8D6OdJYwF%252BJg%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

As I said earlier I can still sell PS1 systems for a decent amount as long as they're working, and it really doesn't take that long. Everyone else's area must really suck if they can't sell these.

You forgot that someone paid $80 in shipping on the japanese one. Thus proving that some PlayStations are worth it.

It works fine, but it's skippy. I tried recording some stuff with the video included, and the audio cuts out and there are is video noise on the screen. I don't know if the tape is worn, or if the heads need cleaning. Any advice?

I picked up a Nintendo DS in a bag with AC adapter and car charger for $5 today. Also picked up some little relay switch thingy (hell if I know) for a quarter that I can apparently get $10-15 for on eBay. Just one of those things I decided to grab because it was "cool".

This month has sucked because I've had some kind of flu for the past week (still somewhat sick). I haven't been out anywhere beyond the Post Office and the local grocery store.

No. I think at least $25. Not my opinion of course. Given they're useless to most people!

However price gougers have begun to notice them getting scarce now, so I don't exactly trust current list values... :(

Today I found a not for resale case and manual for Streets of Rage 2. $2 for the set.

I'm not sure what to do with it. I thought my SOR2 cart was also not for resale, but it isn't... :(

Also the person that sold this to me is a friggin' gouger, she told me the price of a music CD was five bucks. Hell no.

I'd have thought the biggest hurdle was the working part. I've been told (though admittedly have no experience with it first hand) that commodore stuff can be a pain in the ass to keep working.

It can be sometimes. Even though I love vintage computers, I rarely touch Commodore crap unless it's super cheap. Then again, I'm more into the 80's IBM/DOS machines than the 8-bit computers. The only Commodore I'd like to have for my collection is a SX-64 but I'm in no rush to acquire one due to the price tag.

Diablo strategy guide $1.50
Nintendo portable adapter $2

I needed some replacement cases for the Wii games I got from craigs list last week and picked up the 360 ones while there since they were all being clearanced for 99 cents each. The two strategy guides and Nintendo adapter came from Goodwill. I don't even know which system the adapter is for but I think it's from the original GBA.

Mario Party 3 strategy guide $5

Super Mario Bros. 3(Nes) $3
Microsoft Home Essentials 98 $3
Microsoft Office Professional Enterprise Edition 2003 $3
Microsoft Office Professional 2003 $3
MAC OS install disc and tool kit $3
Blast Lacrosse(PS1) $3
Nintendogs: Dashund & Friends(Ds) $3
Animal Crossing: Wild World(Ds) case and manual $3

This week Goodwill went back to their "everything is $3" policy instead of having $4 day like last week. One of the Microsoft Office disc has the product key on back while the other does not. I'm wondering if I can still sell it like that. The MAC OS install disc were part of a Macbook purchase that somebody decided to get rid of. I'm just curious if they will only install to a Macbook or could someone install them to a Windows compatible Pc. Or better yet, maybe they could be installed to a PS3 that still has the Other OS option. Well probably not but I'm sure someone out there could put them to good use.

As far as I know those Mac OS discs will only work with the model of Macbook they shipped with. Maybe others.

Also, don't bother with the Offices. Those are MSDN editions, not for sale, just for testing stuff.

I freaking scored tonight at the local auction house. My uncle made the trip from South Carolina and he did pretty well too. Not going to bother with pictures until tomorrow but ...

http://www.ebay.com/csc/i.html?rt=nc&LH_Complete=1&_nkw=silver%20quarter%20roll&_dmpt=Coins_US_Individual&_fln=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m283

I paid $75 for a roll of 40 silver quarters. Dates from like 1942 to 1964. I thought I would get $150 but nope, apparently add $100 to that. That's really going to help me out since this month was slow due to the weather and my illness.

Maybe Sunnyvale can help me with this one: paid $1 for four new Wii Guitar Hero Les Paul covers. I figured they were worth that.

Picked up an RCA STAV-3970 and three Dish/DirecTV receivers for $15. Receivers will likely have to be scrapped but I should double my money on the receiver. Might keep it for myself though. Also picked up a Sentry safe for $5 but that's something I bought for me. Also picked up some random crap for $1 here and there which makes great flea market fodder and sometimes I actually find decent things in them.

The Quarters though, Jesus Christ, that's just crazy.

The original GBA has an adapter, it just doesn't have a rechargeable battery of course. There's a plastic piece that goes in the battery slot, and the adapter plugs into that. Ah, the "good" ol' days of being tethered to a wall with a portable. But, yeah, that's not for the GBA. The GBA adapter is darker grey and more rounded. That one looks just like my DSi XL plug.

A friend of mine called me up tonight and told me that he had a bunch of video game related stuff that was mine if I wanted it. Eight minutes later I pull up into his driveway and return home with this:

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/430184_10151348408100294_516975293_23381377_205097 3436_n.jpg

Unpacked, it looks something like this:

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/430051_10151348408690294_516975293_23381379_770402 821_n.jpg

The eras of the goodies range from PS2 to Texas Instrument learning cartridges. Above all, I now have tons of Sega, particularly Genesis, games and systems.

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/428262_10151348409450294_516975293_23381385_377105 57_n.jpg

I now have a Genesis model 2, CD Player, 32X, light gun, Saturn, three controllers (2 1st party), and a ton of assorted cartridges (some boxed, others loose) and loose CDs. I honestly wouldn't care about the Sega CD if it weren't the for Final Fight CD. As a fan of the game, I wanna check that out and see the bad voice acting for myself. I also picked up my 4th functional NES toaster, yet another orange zapper and controller, and a few games (Toobin' is new to my collection). I also have some more PS2 games,

My friend has more stuff scattered amongst boxes in a shed. He told there is probably a Commodore 64 out there, and I am missing some hook ups for the Sega stuff, so I will definitely be out there tomorrow rooting around for treasure. I have been wanting to replace my lost C64 for a while now, so this is really exciting stuff. My friend Mike has definitely warmed the living hell out of my heart tonight. Every retro gamer needs a benefactor like him. :)
