View Full Version : Bidder Predicament

About a month or two ago I listed some dragon ball z cards that I got up on eBay. I wasn't looking to get much for them (I really didn't care since I got them for free) but someone bid, never paid etc. I left negative feedback, filed NPB AND got my final value fee back.

Fast forward to today, I received payment. :| I haven't relisted the cards or given them away cause I really don't care enough to think about them daily. Should I accept the payment and ship them out, retract the NPB and just leave the negative feedback, perhaps with a comment : paid at two months later -OR- should I refund the payment and tell him SOL?

I hate to get a neg. out of retaliation if I don't ship, but I don't really have to I suppose. But then again, if I did get a neg. and didn't ship, eBay wouldn't be likely to remove that would they?

If you got payment and you still have them, ship 'em. It's happened to me, but I had already sold the item so naturally I refunded the payment.

I'd ship them to the guy and then after awhile I'd retract the non-paying bidder and leave a comment after the neg.

Even if you just refunded the money there's probably a 50/50 chance you will get a neg out of this.

Argh, that sucks. I don't think ebay retracts any kind of feedback, regardless of the situation. Did they not send you an email saying something like "oops, sorry" or "hey, dammit, I sent payment?" Communication is a two-way street. If they didn't let you know what was going on in their part of the world, the neg. feedback was justified, I think. So, since you have the payment (and if it's not a check), I'd send those cards along, and hold my breath and hope they don't leave a retalitory neg. to you.

I agree with dave and the god on this. Retract the NP bidder status and leave an "update" to the neg. you left. That way, when people look at the buyer's comments, they'll get the full story (in so many words) of what happened. I'd also be prepared for them to leave you a retalitory neg. You can post your own comment to the neg. you might receive, and tell your side as well. Good luck with all that!

I'd say go ahead and ship it... it's much easier than relisting the item. That said, regardless of what you do, what's the big deal if you do get a negative? I haven't looked, but I'm sure your feedback is solid. A negative here or there won't scare anyone off. Shit happens, and most people are going to relize that.
