Here're a few not super obvious titles covering a broad range of genres:

Blackthorne
Demon's Crest
EVO: Search For Eden
Gradius III
Legend of the Mystical Ninja
Shadowrun
Soul Blazer
Sparkster
Sunset Riders
Super Turrican

Welcome to the club! I reacquired a Super NES last fall after not owning one for 15 years.

I just finished Donkey Kong Country 2 this evening. I'd recommend it if you like "collection platformers" such as the Spyro or Crash Bandicoot games.

Another must-play is Yoshi's Island. Possibly the best platforming game I've ever played.

When I got back into the Super NES, I just got online and searched for "top 10" lists and such. When I saw names of games I had never played, I checked out reviews or videos and added them to my wishlist if they were good.

This is a good, basic list:

Twisted Tales of Spike McFang
Operation Logic Bomb
Kendo Rage
Run Saber
Magic Sword
Legend
King of Dragons

The best part about this list is that there isn't a single game that'll cost you more than $20, and a couple that are around the cost of shipping, LOL

I recommend finding a way to run imports. You probably know like N64 there's no US<->JPN program lock in either direction, just the issue of getting them to fit...
Japan made some good Tetris games we didn't see.

Break the tabs out so you can look into the SFC library. (I'm assuming we're talking about an NTSC SNES here.)

For starters: Any Parodius game.

Awesome! You're in for some good times.

Just to list a few that haven't yet been listed:

-Goof Troop
-Wild Guns
-B.O.B. (your mileage will vary, but I liked this one quite a bit)
-Saturday Night Slam Masters
-Final Fight 3 (underappreciated IMO)
-Aladdin
-Batman Returns
-Hook/Skyblazer (same developers, somewhat similar feel)

etc.

There's so much. And as someone said, if you remove the tabs inside the cartridge slot, it will open up a whole 'notha world. Check out my site RVGFANATIC.com for a ton of obscure-ish Super Famicom (that's Japanese SNES) game reviews. I also have US reviews as well. Enjoy the system... it's one of the best ever, undoubtedly!

-Batman Returns

I distinctly remember that game being extremely crap.

Well, as always, opinions vary. Majority seems to like it, though. It was well received in the press, and often well received by fans on the 'net. Myself, it's not my personal favorite, but I do think of it as a solid beat 'em up.

Another way to play imports without damaging any of the plastic inside is to just use a gamebit screwdriver to take the top half of the plastic off your system shell, play for a while and put it back on when you're done

This is alot to take in, I don't know where to begin.

Maybe you should begin where the Super Nintendo began - with the first three launch titles - Super Mario World, Pilotwings and F-Zero then take it from there. All three are cheap titles when it comes to cost.

Yeah maybe I should start with these games but then again maybe I shouldn't . The 3 games I bought with my snes were TMNT 4 turtles in time, mortal kombat 2 and supermario allstars + supermario world. The game I want to play the most out of these 3 is TMNT 4 turtles in time.

Then your memory is failing you, my friend. That game was impressive. It's worth the price of admission just to throw clowns through store windows.

btw theMot, Super Play as you know were brutally hard on rating beat 'em ups, but Batman Returns is their highest rated BEU: 87% (higher than both Turtles in Time and Ninja Warriors)

Super Star Wars!! It's cheap and easy to find. A good way to spend 2 1/2 hours. I can slap this in and play all the way thru in an afternoon. Great game!

Starfox! I know you might think it's obvious, but a lot of people overlook this great game. I got mine for $5 at a classic game specialty store, so it wasn't just luck, that's actually the average price! It has 3 different paths to take, so the replay value is definentely high. Also it is fun, fast paced, and just difficult enough to make it enjoyable. So to conclude..... GET IT.
