Ubisoft is in the middle of transferring all of its data from one server farm to another, and while we knew the process would render some games unplayable (http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/03/psa-ubisoft-server-migration-means-temporary-offline-time-for-s/), it seems the migration has affected a wider swath of Ubisoft's catalogue than previously anticipated.

Players are reporting issues with the PC version of Driver: San Francisco and with Anno 2070, according to a report by Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-02-08-ubisoft-apologises-after-online-server-switch-snafu). Ubisoft, in addition to apologizing on its Twitter (https://twitter.com/#!/Ubisoft/status/167196536130899969) feed, is also working to correct the problem and has already found a preliminary solution for Anno 2070 (http://forums-de.ubi.com/showthread.php/116865-Update-Online-Server?p=2032129#post2032129) players unable to get online. Ubisoft expects services to be fully restored by Thursday morning.http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif (http://www.joystiq.com)Ubi's server migration closeouts extend beyond previously announced titles (http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/08/ubis-server-migration-closeouts-extend-beyond-previously-announ/) originally appeared on Joystiq (http://www.joystiq.com) on Wed, 08 Feb 2012 14:30:00 EST. Further proof that a massive faceless game publisher cares nothing about the people who buy its products.

Isn't DRM awesome?

Even better - it seems to be affecting some older PS3 games. Go figure.

It was a terrible day for ubisoft customers.
For pirates, it was Tuesday.

Never bought a PC game from them. Never will.

That's really what it comes down to. When your pirates have a better experience than your legitimate customers that should be a red flag your priorities are completely out of whack.
