Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing 2 announced!

Though it was the toys, not the game announced first, it's coming. The original was probably the best kart racer released in years, though it did have some flaws. Hopefully they fix the online problems and add in more characters from Sega's past. Hopefully Nights will actually be playable this time.

Seriously though, I hope they include more characters this time. If more Rare characters were included that would be cool.

I would've rather seen them put Sumo Digital to work on something like a new Outrun game. Just something that is a more traditional Sega inspired arcade racer rather than a kart racer.

I don't know why everyone knocks Sonic R's soundtrack, its just 90's cheesiness you could find everywhere from that era. lol

This sounds good, never played the first one but I had heard good things. I'll probably pick it up now after I burn through more of my blacklog, haven't played a solid cart racer that wasn't Mario in a long time.

I rented the first one and enjoyed it. I never got around to buying my own copy yet but I had fun with it offline. Now the online is another issue entirely but mostly because I needed more practice.

This is awsome news! I bought the first one on a whim thinking i wouldnt really did it to much. I ended up loving it:onfire: sega did a very good job with creating a fun balanced kart racer with tight controls. I hope the nre one isnt a wii U exclusive. I dont buy launch consoles, they always break and cost to much.

Maybe I need to pick up the first one. I love Sonic but I've not been able to find a good mascot style karting/racing game that was any good besides Mario Kart. So I just gave up.

I didn't have the opportunity to play the first one in multiplayer, but I loved the Daytona/Outrun like gameplay mechanics. The single player options were extremely limited though. I also didn't find the attack options all that amusing.
