Etrian Odyssey 3 question

I can suppose that some DPers have played and finished Etrian Odyssey 3...

I'm having an issue with the game: I finished the 2nd Stratum Mission, talked to Olympia, got the Sea Bead. After placing the Bead on the pedestal, the currents temporarily stopped and I was able to reach the part of B8F that was previously inaccessible because of the currents. Problem is, the currents reappeared after a while! I've searched online, and found nothing about this. I also went back to Armoroad and tried talking to everyone. I even went back to the pedestal and couldn't do anything. The bead is seated there and can't be moved or anything.

Anyone else encountered this issue, which seems to be a bug with the game? I really don't want to restart the game at the beginning... :(

I didn't solve my problem completely, but at least I was able to force my party through the remnants of the currents. Phew!

I haven't even finished the second one, although I'm working on it periodically. The games take a long time - spend loads of time (too much, probably) crawling through that last dungeon that they showed after the game was "finished" in the first one. Sorry :(

Iirc, you can use the warp to the next stratum. There is also hidden paths that bypass the currents that us only accessable once you pass then the first time. Work backwards from the next warp point to find the hidden bypasses. It's not a glitch, they are only quiet until you go on to the next dungeon lvl. Then they come back on.
