Alright! Starting the day off right... I get into work this morning and one of our salesmen says he was cleaning out his Aunt's basement and found something I may be interested in. This guy (he's probably around 55) is a good friend of mine and a book collector so naturally I assume he found some books down there I'd want, or some other antiquarian stuff that he wasn't into for some reason... Turns out to be a 2600, 2 joysticks, about 8 games, and pile of instruction manuals! Mostly common games, but I did see Strawberry Shortcake Musical Match-up and Dishaster! Cool beans!

Ok well I deliver a bunch of circulars (the K-Mart, Walgreens, etc etc etc thingies), and in my travels I often keep my eyes on the trash people are throwing out. I do the papers on Thursdays and Fridays, and as it turns out it happens to be trash day ;)

Anyways my dad get's off the phone telling me he found me a really nice Intellivision system at the flea market with about 25 boxed complete games and a boxed intellivoice for $20. Fantastic I think !

Anwyays, about 30 seconds later as I'm delivering some papers, I notice a computer paper box closed up with the words Ninentendo (yah spelled like that, in pen) on the top. I figure, what the hell I'll open it up.

Turns out to be a pristine Intellivision system with about 12 boxed complete games :) Fantastic day for me :)

JVC X'EYE w/ 2 controllers and power supply - $20

NES Mega Man original - $2

I tested the X'EYE and it works, cartridge slot and cd. First time I've seen one of these in the wild. I found this at the same thrift shop I got a Turbo Grafx 16. It's seems if it don't say Nintendo or Atari on it the soccer mom passing it up.

HAHA, I did the same thing about 2 weeks ago. WARNING to all you gamers out there, BB execs are making rounds so many BB are cleaning up their back storage rooms.

Did you actually hop in the dumpster?

Did you actually hop in the dumpster?

Yep. I had to use a shopping cart from Dollar Tree as a stepping stool. LOL

I'm trying to find a way to keep the dumpster lid up at Toys 'r' Us. It's really heavy. Maybe a car jack or something...

I never thought about Best Buy. I may give them a visit tomorrow. ;)

I got quite a bit of stuff today:

-Boxed Atari 800XL, Boxed Printed, Boxed 1050 drive....$10 (Don't know much about any of this, but for $10, it must have been good. What purpose does this disk rive serve anyway?)
-Action Max w/hookups and one game....$5
-Loose Bubble Bobble, Maniac Mansion, Ren & Stimpy, Super C, and Tiny Toons......$3 a piece
-Loose Super Widget, Super Metroid, and Super Adventure Island......$5 a piece
-Complete Sim City 2000 and Solar Eclipse for SS...$2 a piece
-Loose Sim City SNES, Super Mario Kart w/manual, and Super Tennis w/manual...$1 a piece
-NBA Live 2002 PS2....$5
-NBA Jam GG loose....$1
-4 complete N64 sports games....$1 a piece
-Tecmo Super Bowl PSX complete....$2
-Genesis w/ hookups, and 12 complete games....$20 (6 games i didn't have! Highlights were Grind Stormer and Tecmo Super Bowl II)

All of these were garage sale/flea market finds. There is still plenty of stuff in the wild if you look for it.

Quick question....I saw a Microvision and like 6 boxed games for $50, but passed. She wasn't budging on the price. Whats a fair price for a lot like this?

I know exactly what you're talking about...my parents have the exact same thing! Weirdest collectible ever, and yet oddly cool at the same time. I'd love to find out what something like that is worth.

Although, hearing about another one makes me wonder if perhaps they did a promotional "retro release" or something...

No...this is an OLD bottle! I know for a fact that the only time it was ever released was back when Pepsi first made Mountain Dew available and that it's never been reissued. I found this at a yard sale of a guy who had a whole garage of random old antiques and stuff...he buys estates and sells off all the stuff! He sells everything super cheap to turn a quick buck so the bottle only cost me a quarter! :D

Oh and one more find yesterday:

Went to the mall in a nearby town and the music/video store had a rack of older games on clearance cause they weren't moving (the prepackaged $10-20 cart only ones), and moved em to $1.99, so I got these for $1.99:

Arrow Flash (Genesis)
Fire Shark (Genesis)
Sol Deace (Genesis)
Atomic Robo Kid (Genesis)
Valis (Genesis) x2

Yay!
