Hey gang!

Well, I've been placed in charge of hosting the CGE "Family Feud" game this year and I need your help. Below is a series of questions that I'll be using for the Family Feud "100-people surveyed" questions. Take a moment, cut and paste these into an e-mail, answer them, and fire them off to gameagain@netzero.net . I'll compile these into the answers for the game. (PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS IN THIS THREAD! I WILL NEED THEM E-MAILED TO COUNT.)

Please keep in mind that there are no "right" or "wrong" answers. Don't think a long time about the questions or "examine" them. Just write down the first answer that pops into your head. Unless specified, you may answer with either a home console game or an arcade game.

I'm shooting for 100 replies ASAP, so play along if you have a moment! Thanks again for your help!

Yup, you can just do a numbered list if that's easiest. But most folks are just cutting and pasting the list into an e-mail and then just going through and answering it like a quiz, next to the question. Whichever is easiest for ya.

Not on a regular basis. Charlie started this a few months ago and ran an online Family Feud-type game; We're taking the idea to CGE and Tim will be running two live games on Sunday (in addition to our Jeopardy games on Saturday). Should be good fun!

Just an idea but did you know you can write your own answers for the Jeopardy game for the Coleco ADAM? You might be able to for the ADAM Family Fued game also. Playing classic game trivia on a classic system would be very appropriate.

That WOULD be pretty cool, actually... here's what we've got in the works:

The Jeopardy game is played out on a giant 8' x 8' wooden free-standing board (you may have seen pics of this from CGE2k1). Eyehooks hold the cards in place, they're easily removable/flippable, etc. Sniderman is the MC this year and will have his lovely assistant Janice working the board and the scoring.

The cool innovation to this THIS year is that we have a "buzzer" program designed for the Atari 2600 which uses four paddle controllers. The first person to press their paddle button gets their custom sound, color, and character (Yorgle from Adventure, Pac-Man, Yar, and now I forget the fourth one). This is played out on an A/V modded 2600 hooked into the band's amp system. Cool stuff!

The Family Feud game is new this year too but the board can be modified slightly for this. Buzzer program is now only needed for two players and we'll have couches for the "families" to sit in during the game. Again, Tim will do his best Richard Dawson imitation :)

Should be great fun, it's part of the show I'm looking very forward to. The fact that the DP booth is at the front of the show facing the band/front entrance allows the web cam a perfect vantage point for this game as well.

Just a few days to go! I feel like a kid just before Christmas who knows that his first Atari 2600 is under the tree.

The fourth character was driving me nuts. It's ET.

"Again, Tim will do his best Richard Dawson imitation."

You mean Tim is going to send innocent people into arena where they will be hunted down and killed by guys wearing tin foil and spandex? That cocksucker.

Hmm. You know, I hadn't considered that this might be a problem with some sensitive types. Maybe we'll just ask him to don a sports jacket and kiss the ladies instead!
