So pleased to have found this forum as I just love tinkering with old consoles. I registered to post a question, but I've spent the last hour just reading old topics... fascinating.

Anyway, I do have a question.

Here is a side-by-side comparison video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ThmISKOQfc) I shot of the same game (and same physical cartridge) running on separate SNESs that I have in my possession. Both consoles are the standard UK PAL edition (http://jscustom.theoldcomputer.com/images/manufacturers_systems/Nintendo/SNES/907470Wikipedia_SNES_PAL.jpg) (SNSP-001A).

You can see the graphical glitches in the video on the right. The glitches don't appear with every game I try on this console. SF2 and Super Mario All Stars both function perfectly for example. I only have the three games to test, so I accept that it's not the greatest sample size. I've cleaned the console thoroughly (http://imgur.com/a/cXhXQ#0), including the 62-pin connector and the cartridge. I've even tried swapping out the 62-pin connector from the working console to the broken one... No luck.

I'm pretty much stumped at this point. Any help or tips would be appreciated!

Oh boy. Since not everything is messed up equally, it might be tougher.

I can't think of any specific games to test that would reveal more. Perhaps graphics enhanced titles like Starwing?

Normally I'd recommend saving up for an RGB cable and region mods to improve the game experience. But not on a possibly damaged SNES.

Of course I'm in the US. I can't yet test a similar environment, my SNES consoles aren't equipped with PAL. (I'll need to eventually for certain games)

I have a Snes that has that same problem but it happens with any game I put in it
