It's come to my attention that, while in HD, my pictures suck compared to what they could be.

How do you guys take good photos of your games? Right now all i'm doing is putting them in a photo booth I got off eBay, and snaping photos at a high angle to reduce the lense flare you get on DVD cases with my SAMSUNG TL105 digital camera.

There has to be a better way, where do I start?

I've heard lining your photo box with non reflective paper can help but that's the only idea I have.

I get a TON of glare when taking pictures of DVDs and other games straight on, and the only thing that seems to help is taking them at a higher angle. The problem with that is it makes the picture of the games turn into a V shape, smaller towards the bottom and larger near the top.

One thing I do that helps sometimes is to stand back and zoom in.

edit: link to photo booth? You might be able to build a better one yourself. Google DIY light box

Get a better flash or use no flash at all. If you really have to use a flash the last thing you want is a direct flash. Also, diffused is better. Zooming in is not preferable for better quality pictures.

Sufficient background lighting that is non-direct and absolutely no flash. Flash is not necessary if the background lighting is enough and only works well if the surface isn't terribly reflective such as human skin or cloth.

For up close shots learn to love macro mode. If you find everything to be blurry rest your hands on something that doesn't mean or, better yet, use a tripod and some sort of remote shutter control.
