i see that Retrousb.com sells NES Repros, I was asking someone how they were at some vintage store and he said they don't work on the original NES units, is this true? Is it cause of the lock out on the "toaster" NES units.? It should work on a top loader though right? Can anyone shed some light on this?

If that is the case all you'd need to do is cut that lead on the 10NES chip inside the NES and have a much more reliable system to boot.

The person you talked to has no idea what they are talking about. Repros work just fine on any system.

Those carts are supposed to work just fine on any system, I haven't heard of any problems with them.

buy from thenesdump.com, better selection, top quality, and they all look legit like something that could have been released, they dont slap their logo all over everything like retrozone does (and retrozone has some of the worst label art, that gimmick art, sweet jesus is that awful!!!!!!!)

I did that, but on the wrong side of the chip, TWICE. The third time I got it right though.

Maybe the guy was talking about them not working in the RetroDuos etc. There are some games that the RetroDuo just doesnt play.
