The AV cable for my N64 provides sound no problem - but the video part doesn't work. Is there any way to fix it, or should I just chuck it?

I assume you've verified it's the cable by trying another one? If so, I would just chuck it considering how cheap they are. It's not worth the time to try and fix.

Yeah, it is the cable. It was only a couple bucks, I might as well throw it out.
