i always wondered about these things. laser discs were awsome back in the day before DVD, the quality was awsome but the media wasnt so much but do you think the genesis in a laser activewould look any better than standard?
the reason i am bringing this up:

I have one, My friend has 2. None of them work 100% perfectly. We had to play mix n match Sega Pac to get one to even load sega cd games. They are highly problematic and if you buy one in working condition, I doubt it will stay that way for long. (Just my personal experience)

The Sega & NEC PACs suffer from bad surface mount caps. If you have one, or are considering buying, be sure to account for a cap replacement. The longer it's put off, the more chance there is of damage to the circuit boards and surrounding components.

Yeah, mine totally shorted itself out in the middle of a game. The whole Laseractive was stuck in Standby mode and smelled terrible. I sold it for parts.
