As if it's difficult to be better than the GameAxe...

Game Theory Admiral

http://www.systemfreak.com/images/gta.jpg

From HK Game News:
It built in a backlit LCD screen. Moreover, it can be connected to normal TV for displaying larger screen. However, it is not very convenient when playing. since the Famicom cartridge cannot be plugged directly into the console. You need to use a supplied cart adapter. Then the combination become very bulky.

So, anyone get their mitts on one yet?[/img]

Thanks for the heads-up! Definitely intriguing. Nice timing, too, with the Famicom's 20th anniversary and everything.

Doesn't seem very appealing now, with the NES emu's for the GBA being a much better alternative.

Well it would be nice if it is better than the GameAxe. The GameAxe has the worst screen of any portable . (Well the Game Gear is right up there to ). I had my GameAxe for 30 minutes , and played it for 30 minutes , got a massive headache and immediately listed it and sold it on E-Bay.
Terrible just Terrible.

Yeah, and also have problems with a lot of NES carts, i think you can play better with the famicom pirates...

NCS has more information on the Game Theory Admiral in today's news. $53! Sounds like a deal to me!

Pink for the NTSC version?! WTF? Are our Japanese friends trying to be funny or what?

I kinda wanted one, right up until I read that.

Memo to Bill Gates: Take all the X-Boxes scheduled for export to Japan and paint them yellow! That'll show `em!

(/not a racist, I swear...)

That's REALLY funny!!!

I used to have a Game Axe (and, like never used it). I ended up selling it on ebay to help me get that Xbox I so wanted. And did I hear someone say NES emulator for the GBA? How the hell does that work?
(I could look it up I suppose, but I'm lazy) :)

Nevermind about the GBA/NES question (just found the column for it).
That's pretty awesome! I'm definately going to look into doing that!

It will probably be that clear pink color like that GBA one.

Hopefully. At that price (and if it's good), I'll probably try snagging one. Didnt' get a Game Axe, but wanted one. Now I'm reading all these bad things, and maybe it's a good thing I didn't buy one!

I think it's better than Game Axe Color unless it doesn't have AC or DC output for plugs.

And how long do the batteries last? Will you have to buy batteries like crasy? :?

Yes, Manimal it is see-thru http://www.divineo.com.hk/divineo/images/products/hh-gtacn.jpg

And the Game Axe Color isn't that bad, you can plug 9-pin controllers into it great for multiplay when hooked up to TV. It also has DC output so you don't have to buy batteries. Grrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggg those batteries really piss me off  http://www.energizer.com/images/home/HmeBatterye2AAA_img.gif

How do you Emu NES games on the GBA? Our are you talking about the E Card Reader? There is only a small handful of those titles available

You can emu an NES on a GBA by buying a flash cartridge and PC linker and then downloading a specially designed emulator like PocketNES at http://www.pocketnes.org/

Currently there are two emulators out, with that you take the roms you have, use the menu building program and it turns it into a gba rom you can use on a flash cartridge

As I posted in another topic:
I Just got mine in the mail today. The system is pretty cool the screen is ok.
It uses TFT type screens so the picture blurrs alot. Overall I am very happy with it. I am going to see if I can mod it in any way that can improve it.(The screen) Also if anyone has any links to schematics to use US games on a famicom I would appreciate it. Also if anyone wants pictures let me know.

Seems a little complicated. Any sites sell the FlashCard with the NES Games preloaded?

Bratwurst

Some Hong Kong sellers on ebay will sell 'preloaded' carts with 30 or more classic games and those will usually be NES rom bundles with the pocketnes emulator.

Really it's not that difficult to set up, you just run a program that compiles your selected NES roms into one big GBA rom.

It really isn't, but if you want multicarts, look

EDIT: Links to sites selling GBA multicarts not allowed.

You'd probably have to do some serious hacking since NES PCBs are wider than their Famicom counterparts. I thought I read somewhere else that a Nintendo converter is planned- but still, that's a crazy adaptor to be using in the first place. Why didn't they just make the cartridge connector a straight through? The casing would only have to be molded a little thicker.

Screen's smaller though it obviously has higher resolution than a Gameboy Advance. I'd pick the GBA over it any day.

Au Contraire: The R Zone and the Game.com are FAR, FAR worse.

EDIT: Please don't ask about Pirated GBA carts. Thank you.
