PIcked this up yesterday, appears not to have been release in the US. Any idea of rarity or value? (ignore other items in picture, to lazy to crop them out:).

One of those several Japanese special editions. Not the rarest. But much uncommon by Game Gear standards.

You should know that Game Gear games can detect language similar to Master System and Genesis.
A few games have differences running in JPN mode. Puyo Puyo, Streets of Rage, Streets of Rage 2, Ristar...

Correct. Though we don't yet know everything about the tech details. There isn't really much interest in it. A few theories have been presented, no successful conversion mod AFAIK.

Nonetheless evg2000 you'll get to see game content 99% of Game Gear owners outside Japan cannot. :)

I would say at least a hundred if it's working properly (no sound or screen issues).

cool, thanks for the info. It's actually in really good shape, minor flaw on the plastic over the screen but I think that can be replaced. I think the picture quality might be the best of all the gg games I have. I will have to try a couple of the games you mentioned when I get a chance.

Careful when powering it. Not all regions of Game Gear expect the same input.
