Hi !
How do you protect your collection of item ?
I'm currently collecting RPG games and goodies (strategy guide and unauthorized strategy guide). How can I prevent scratch on cd case (ps1) and protect cartridge (the sticker look like so cheap)
thanks

you could put them in clear plastic bags.

My entire collection is guarded by two vicious attack cats.
Oh...and, erm, most of the cartridges are in a nice drawer unit.

Nope, two males. But they're vicious! Really really mean! They hiss at anyone who walks in the door and commits the crime of not being me.
And...uh...once that's all over with, if they don't run and hide under the bed, you can pet 'em 'n' stuff. Very mean cats! Grrrrr!

Well, mostly you don't need to. Carts especially are made pretty damn sturdy. Just make sure you don't scrape the labels against stuff, and keep em in otiginal boxes if you can get them!
As for CD cases, forget it. It's impossible to keep from scuffing them, no matter how you store them. The PSX cases are generic CD cases, and easily replaced anyway. They have no intrinsic "this is a game case, not a CD case" value.
I wouldn't worry about it really. Just be careful with them when you take them in and out of wherever you store them, keep them out of moisture or direct sunlight, and you'll be fine! I also have an insurance policy on mine for theft and disaster :) That helps too!

Cartridges...I store them in white plastic container thingies with slide out drawers. Got them at Wal-Mart...don't remember the brand, but they work well.
As for CD cases...I see this on eBay and it frightens me (especially if I was on the selling end) as people are concerned about the conditon of the jewel case! Why? They are disposable and easily replaceable. Makes me want to list something like 'Every jewel case comes pre-broken so don't complain if it gets cracked from the post office'. There are only a few exceptions, and that's when the label/manufacturer uses the case as the cover (clear sticker with design on jewel case, and the remainder of the cover is on the inner sleeve. See Enslaved's "Frost" for example. Still a stupid idea, as the case will get screwed up with time!).
