Soon I'll have another PSP and will be able to play my son in some head to head games. His other brother should also be getting a PSP very soon. We will have 3 PSP's, and hope to play some multiplayer games. One of my favorite games of all time on the PSP is Wipeout Pure, and I'm hoping that all 3 of us will be able to race together. I've never tried this, but I'm hoping it's possible with that game. I know that we will be playing some sports games against each other, but I'm not sure if very many sports games allow more than 2 people to play. Anybody have any suggestions for the best PSP games to play if you're trying to play with 3 PSP's at the same time? How bout just 2 PSP's at a time?

While I know this probably isn't what you're really looking for, the best two player game on the PSP is Dissidia Duodecim. Assists add so much more to the game, there are also a lot of different skills to fit characters playstyles. One thing is that the Duodecim single player is extremely boring, even more boring than that from the original Dissidia. The world map has beautiful graphics, but it's completely lifeless and having no world map at all would have been better. Another thing to Duodecim is that the game starts very slow, so if you're new to the game, or even if you're playing the original and you're new to it, you'll start out with very few attacks to switch out and such. The multiplayer is where the Dissidia games truly shine. Also, unless it's an anime licensed game, you won't find any game with as much fan service as there is in Dissidia Duodecim.
You might not be as good as the players in this video, and you may or may not get as good, but even if you're not, the game is still extremely fun. I may or may not play a better Kain or Squall than the two in this match. I think I'm a better Kain player, but might not be. From watching the video, don't think I'm as good of a Warrior of Light, though.

The only other games I can think of that are good multiplayer games for the PSP.
Powerstone Collection needs no explanation.
Star Wars Battlefront and Elite Squadron. Elite Squadron has four player ad hoc.
Gundam Battle Universe. Universe has pretty much everything included in Tactics, Royale, and Chronicles, so no need to get those. Japanese import only, but four player adhoc and fairly English friendly.
Gundam vs Gundam If you've ever played another Gundam vs game, then you can compare this to those but a lot faster. You could say it's similar, but not really, to the Powerstone games if you've played those as a sort of brawl type game.
Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles. It's two player co op in Boss Rush mode. Make sure the other player is good(like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUOK3DRI0_g ) because if one of you dies, you both die.
Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions. Now I've never played this online because I can't stand the 40-50% lag with each attack, so quit the game at chapter 2, but I've heard there is both co op and competitive multiplayer. More than likely two player only though.
