Hi i would just like to say that some of the 4 player games on NesterDC 7.1+B (NTSC)are not working properly...I created the nesterdc cd using dcfactory..
RC PRo Am 2...works great for 2 players but put 3 or 4 and it doesnt work well, the problem is that when we select 4 players or 3 the 3rd player can control the 1st player and the 4th player can control the 2nd player.
A nigtmare on Elm Street...Same problem as RC
Super Off Road ...same problem as RC
However gaunlet 2 works just fine...
those are the only 4 player games that i have tested.
Will using version 7.0 solve this problem...or should i just use 6.0?

One of the major setbacks (at least to me) with V7.1 was the fact that Rygar was broken in the release. But, on the other hand, lightgun support (via the joypad) was added. I would use v7.1 and v6.0 depending on what you play. I believe the problems youa re having were introduced in v7.0.

thanks for the reply...
Are you sure that the problems im having was introduced in 7.0?...because i would really like to use 7.0 over 6.0...

Well, I'm not for certain that all of those problems were introduced in v7, but I know I have heard other people complaining that v7 broke some multiplayer capabilities, and I KNOW the Rygar problem exists. Only way to truly find out is to burn a copy of v6 and try it!
The best thing would be to use 6.0. It's a great emulator and I highly recommend it. All the problems you talked about were introduced in 7.0.

Well it seems that switching from NesterDC version 7.1b to 6.0 has solved some problems...Some games are playable in this version that were not in 7.1...ie rygar, contra force, and back to the future 2 and 3...
However the 4 player games still do not work correctly...I still get the same problem when I select 4 players or 3 the 3rd player can control the directions of the 1st player ( but not the a or b button) and the 4th player can control the direction of 2nd player (but not the a and b button)...This seems to affect many of the 4 player games.
I would hate to continue to waste my cdrs to found out which version, if any, has the 4 player adapter feature working correctly.
Does anyone know or is nester just is not that good for 4 player games? Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me? I am using dcfactory to create the self boot cd version of nester...
Any help will be appreciated...
I have nesterdc 6.0 and the fourplayer works great. TMNT!!. Anyways I don't think that it's the way you burned it, but if you want to burn it a diffrent way try this.

Now that I remember anything above 5.0 should work fine with 4 player. how are you setting it up on the menu and where are you downloading it from?

Sorry for the double post but I guess my last message did not go through
Your nesterdc 6.0 works perfectly for 4 players which games do you play with 4 players, do you play rc pro am with 4 players at the same time I mean rc pro am works great for 2 players but not 3 or 4 All hell breaks loose when I put 3/4 players on that game and many other 4 player games for nesterdc version 6.0 and 7.1
Maybe it’s the nesterdc files that I’m using; I download them from this

Is there some type of controller option I can pick to stop the problem im having with the 4 player game, maybe I can disable something in the emulator?
Also do you have game genie installed on your cd...maybe it’s that? I don't think its dcfactory that is causing this problem...right? Also when I check my setting in the vmu it has it as setting for nesterdc but not 6.0 but it says 5.5, maybe I got the wrong version? When it starts its says 6.0...
What do you use to make a self bootable nesterdc cd??
I dont have the gamegenie on my disc.
This is how I burn the disc

Sometimes third party devices can screw with things. Try plugging in four original DC controllers, and unplugging all memory cards. See if that helps.

Hey zektor,
I unplugged the memory card and it still does not work correctly. Maybe my problem exist due to the fact that i used dcfatory to create it? OR Maybe I should create a nrg instead of cdi, maybe I should not put in game genie codes, maybe I should not put in a different theme, or maybe the problem exist because of the files that i used to create the cd that came from the site below. Or maybe my dreamcast is all screwed up.

It seems that im going to have to waste alot of cds to get this to work. I might try creating one by doing it CanX's way. Which way did you create your nesterdc cd? Also where did you get your Nesterdc files from?
Here I've prepared the whole thing for you. All you need to put in there are the games and your ready to burn.

I doubt it is the way it is burned. If you get to a NesterDC menu and and load games, then it works...simple as that. The only thing I can think of is either DCFactory downloaded a wacky version of NesterDC for you, or the rom(s) in question you are loading have specific problems with multi-player. Remember there are many revisions of quite a few roms, so while one version of the game may work fine, another may not. I have my own burns of v6 and v7.1 and I would test them multiplayer if I were able to, but I only have one DC joypad as of now.

I’m pretty sure its not the roms. I have a nes emulator (fce ultra) for windows and the multiplayer games play just fine... I will try to burn them using CanX's way. If that doesn't work then I guess its my dc that’s shot.
CanX I downloaded the rar file you put up... I unrared it and get a JimNESBoot (Universal) folder and inside are the necessary files I think to make the cd...
So I just simply add the roms to the game folder and execute the JIMBOOT.bat and it will create the Nero image and I just burn it right?
I would like to put a different theme in...Would you recommend me doing so? Should I put game genie game folders in there so I can use game genie? Or should I just create the image with nothing in the genie folder and the default theme?
Place the theme and game genie codes you want.

Hey CanX,
I have another stupid question to ask you regarding JimNESBoot NesterDC.rar file that i got from you.
It seems that in the Nesdc/games directory a file is missing... the dummy.nes file. Did you forget to put this file in there or is it just not needed? I ask this because I downloaded a nesterdc from the site below and other sites and they all come with a dummy.nes file. Please clear this up for me.
http://www.emuxhaven.net/emuxhaven/nes/extras/nesterdc-6.0-bin.
Also do you have any famicom games on your nesterdc cd. I know we need the disksys.rom to make it work. Where must i put the disksys.rom file?...into the games directory with my roms? Or into the directory where the 1st_read.bin is located?
I’m sorry for asking so many questions but i want to be sure i have everything where they supposed to be before i waste another cdr.
The dummy file is not needed. For the disksys.rom you need to place it in the same folder as the roms. Don't worry about asking any questions. I love helping when it comes to DCemu stuff.

Hmm, placing the disksys.rom in the rom directory ("games" directory) didn't work for me. What did work was placing it on the root of the cd.
Let me burn it first. I'll tell you if everything is ok.
I just burned it on the game folder and it worked. You can place it in both places if you don't know who to trust. ;)

Hey Canx I just have one more question about JimNESBoot ... When I am putting the roms into the games folder should I keep the roms zipped up or should I unzip them?
OR Does the JimNESBoot automatically unzip them for me?
