I love my GB Micro - is there somewhere to get additional faceplates for it?

All I can find online are vinyl decals that you stick onto existing faceplates

I've been wondering that myself... they seem to be harder to find than the Micros themselves.

I remember when the Micro came out, you could order certain replacements from Nintendo.com (now long out of stock), and I seem to remember some 3rd party accessory kits having some replacement faceplates as well.

I know what you mean. I google searched and only found a few on ebay and that's all I could find.

I "hoarded" maybe 10 or more of these from Nintendo.com and the Nintendo store in NYC sensing they'd become a pain in the ass to find. Many are still sealed. Off the top of my head I have the standard silver and black, Famicom and maybe a camouflage faceplate. I have multiples, of course.

For sale? :)

It probably isn't worth my time to sell them unless they're bringing big bucks. I bought them because I really love GBM and want to ensure I have back up screens in the case one is scratched (which happened once).

However, I feel your pain, and if I do have more than 10 I'll PM you just 'cause you're a fellow GBM enthusiast!

I see this being asked once or twice a week on reddit lately, it doesn't seem like a lot of owners kept the spares (I believe the standard versions in the USA came with 2 extras, but they were ugly).

I understand why people would hoard the ones they have, since there seems to be pretty much no supply of spares easily available.

Yeah, I tried to locate some cheaply as well about a year ago but had very little luck, as you mentioned all the ones on eBay are stickers or something to stick onto existing faceplates :\ Where are our Chinese manufacturers producing cheap knockoffs when we need them?

I've still got my original faceplates, but I've never taken the fire or camo ones out of the box.
I really regret not buying both original versions of the micro, since I've always wanted one that's entirely black, and mixing and matching faceplates and buttons is the best way to have that.

I bought a few from Nintendo.com in about 06 and somehow lost them in a house move. I had several black and Famicom ones.... it burns us, precious.

But it's all right, because I still have my trusty black/black GBM ready to rock at any time. I should go on a quest to get the various solid-color GBMs. I really regret not getting an FF4 themed one, and those green ones are just too cool.

Youre a scholar and a gentleman

I rather buy them from a store or eBay than raid your personal stash. :)

It makes even less sense knowing Nintendo released GBM in China!

Here's what I was able to quickly dig up. I feel like I have a few more somewhere, but am not sure where they are, obviously.

Wow those are awesome! If this forum had a drooling emoticon I would use it.

If you are looking to unload any let me/us know :D

Like I said before, these things would have to bring some nice cash for me to part with them. But if I do find more I can be a bit flexible with my doubles and triples. I imagine you might be able to find cheap systems with more common face plates on craigslist or something.

I know what you mean. When something is gone, trying to find some things is worse than being in the middle of the desert on fire and you can't get anyone to at least spit on you! I just happened to aquire a Famicom Micro and love it! Only problem is the faceplate has some scratches that for the life of me I can't get out. Anyone got an idea how? Thanks.

It may make sense to get one of the vinyl decals from eBay. They're not perfect but they look okay I guess.
