View Full Version : Is EGM dead... again?

Been a little while since I posted last, but this seemed to be the place to ask this since there was a thread about EGM a few months back saying that it had gone bi-monthly.
For those who don't know, issue #253 did indeed come out in January. It was carried at Walmart and Target, and I recall seeing one in a grocery store near my home (the Darksiders II cover variant). However, the new issue was expected in the middle of March (around the 14th I believe), and since it's nearly April, it seems a little late for the March/April bi-monthly issue to be showing up. So basically, my question is the thread title... is EGM dead, again? Did anyone have a subscription and find themselves getting any kind of notification, or perhaps find something about it online?

I just got one a couple days ago in the mail. I haven't read it yet. I'll take a closer look at it when I get home.

i actually no lie started my egm subscription in september and i've only recieved 2 fucking issues so far, the 2nd one coming in today around 15 minutes ago....smh, get your shit together egm

I was always an avid EGM reader back in the day, it was one of my favorite if not my favorite gaming mag. But I've generally stopped buying gaming mags unless I'm at an airport, and even then I'm probably playing my handhelds...

Even if they haven't died yet it's only a matter of time. I can't see them making much money off of the format they currently have.

Yeah, I received the March/April issue a couple of days ago myself. It has a Borderlands 2 cover.

I myself do not like the new format...Go back to the old format with the brick reviews..then maybe i may start reading again

Man... glad I passed on the sub to this mag. Still, I think GameFan is only averaging about one issue per year (someone correct me if I'm wrong). So things could be worse.
I guess print is dead, after all.

The current EGM is boring as hell. If it doesn't go under now, it will soon enough.

Loved EGM in its heyday. Honestly there is not really a purpose for it anymore. It should have stayed dead. I read one of the recent mags at a local grocery store. I was going to buy it, but found myself not interested in the format/content they were covering.
