I'm seriously thinking about picking up a Star Wars Xbox 360 after I drop off my kid at school here in a little while. Target has them for $449, plus you get a $50 gift card in return.

Question: Once I buy the console, will I need to buy anything else? (Like maybe an HDMI cable?)

I can't blame you, its a wicked cool special edition console. I wish that Sony would bring over more of the awesome JPN special edition PS3s...le sigh.

Anyways looking around I don't think it comes with an HDMI wire but that shoulden't be too hard to find for 10 bucks or less at a local electronics store. The bundle comes with the console, controller, headset, kinect sensor, and two games (Kinect Adventure and Starwars) so you should have everything you need to play outta the box.

I was flipping channels, stopped on ROTJ the other night on Spike TV. During it, they advertised Star Wars Kinect game. Of course, I was immediately turned away by the fact that the game footage shown indicates it's entirely within the "Prequel" time line.

The Star Wars 360 looks cool by itself, but I doubt it'd look nice next to my TV. I'll stick the standard slim.

Be careful what you ask for. (http://nerdbastards.com/2012/04/02/a-brand-new-low-dancing-to-im-han-solo/)

And does Spike show the original trilogy every weekend, or does it just seem that way?

I picked up my Star Wars 360 this morning and will hook it up tonight (too busy working now). Online reviews are butchering the Star Wars game (and Kinect in general), but I bought it because I like the Star Wars design (and because I didn't already have a 360).

I'm not a big SW fan anymore but I do want this R2 inspired system. :) The only thing I'd change would be to have the controller and the Kinect sensor done in the 3PO color scheme to balance it out a little better. Having just the controller in 3PO colors next to the system and a white Kinect sensor is a little off kilter IMO.

I saw footage of the game forever ago and it looks terribad. I wish there was a bundle that didn't include it but I'm sure Lucas would have none of that noise. Speaking of him, I'm having a conundrum. As much as I like this console's design, I know that if I buy this system, I'd be purposely giving him money. @_@

Reason #156 why the American economy is doomed...

Love Star Wars.
Love Xbox 360.
Adult male gamer with ample disposable income.
I'm the target demographic for this thing...and even I have zero interest.

You know this thing is going to be worth some serious money 20 years from now. In 5 years? It might double but who knows. I want it but then I wouldn't want to open it. Maybe I should buy two.

Hooked up the SW Xbox 360 this evening and had a great time playing Raiden IV and Mortal Kombat vs DCU (my tastes run toward the retro--big surprise there).

My son played the Star Wars game and enjoyed it to some degree, though he did say the controls lagged some, and he thought the graphics were lame.

I'm happy with my purchase and am glad to finally have a 360 (I tend to be a late adopter). The customized R2D2 sound effects are cool, as is the console design, though I agree with the earlier post that the Kinect should be C3PO colored.

Looking forward to renting Lollypop Chainsaw when it comes out.

Honestly, my feeling is that if people are talking about how rare/valuable it's gonna be in the future, then it's not going to be.

If anything, all holding one back will do is *maybe* allow you to take advantage of some sucker who's into collecting "sealed systems" or whatever.
