So...yeah...If you would of asked me if this ever could of happened back in like 92' when I was 8...I would of said "no way jose!"
But, since Sega is running into troubles and whatnot, could this be an omen of something worse going on at Sega? Or is this just a better opportunity for him? Either way I been a Nintendo adopter ever since Sega left the market. If he can bring some of the charm to the Big N that he once brought to Sega...then I'm excited to see what is in store!

Oh god, and yuji naka's company "prope" makes games exclusively for nintendo systems.
What a world we live in.
Can you imagine if they teamed up on a new platformer?

So the co creator of an overrated pretty below average series, except for Sonic 3D Blast and Sonic Spinball, joins Nintendo. Poor Nintendo.
Atleast Monolith Soft is a good developer.

I sense some hate in there
Sonic is one of the best platform series every created - maybe not in recent years with the exception of colors and generations, but over all right up with Mario. And no its not because I'm a Sega person that I'm mentioning that...but hey...each is entitled to their own opinion.

Speaking of Sonic creators, I found out yesterday that my co-worker's girlfriend named her daughter YujiNaka.
Really.

So, how many more Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) and Sonic Unleashed-type games do they need to make before Nintendo just gets all of the decent members of Sonic Team?
Then again, how many can possibly be left...

The headline makes it sound like he jumped ship from Sega to Nintendo.
Hirokazu Yasuhara hasn't worked at Sega for a decade.

Probably make it sound that way because it's like if a player were to retire from the Red Sox or Yankees..then make a come back and play for the opposite team...lol

Considering he wasn't associated with those titles, I would say probably none. The man has a damn fine track record if I say so myself. Special props to Uncharted 2: Among Thieves which I consider the best game i've played this generation.

Most people wouldn't realize what his job placement at Nintendo meant, had the article read, "Naughty Dog Game Designer joins Nintendo."

Ah, so he got out while the company was ahead. In hindsight, probably a good decision.
Some of those games are pretty good, but I thought Sonic Xtreme was an Sega of America run endeavor?

That's consistent with the rest of his work after the first two titles. Traveller's Tales (main developer of Sonic 3D Blast and Sonic R) is based in England but some US staff worked on those two. The rest are all US productions.

In 1992 this would have been like if General Lee joined the north. Times are a changin.

Wow I had no idea he worked on the Uncharted games, or the Jak games to a lesser extent. Just upped his already impressive resume. I have to add agreement with Uncharted 2 being one of the best games I've also played this generation.

Huh? Something can easily be both overrated and pretty below average.

I'd say he has a very solid track record - Fatal Labyrinth is one of my favorite Genesis games. I look forward to seeing what he can do for Nintendo.

Okay, so he's worked on quite a few great games. Fatal Labyrinth, Sonic 3D Blast, and the three Uncharted games. Never played the Jak & Daxter games. I guess he'll be a great asset to Nintendo afterall.

Yay, I'm not the only PS2 fan who hasn't played any of the Jak & Daxter games yet! I didn't even play Crash or Spyro apart from their demos until last year either. I think the Playstation was one of the first systems from that generation that didn't really have to have a permanent mascot.

Most people wouldn't realize what his job placement at Nintendo meant, had the article read, "Naughty Dog Game Designer joins Nintendo."
Which is my point, the article headline makes it sound as though this guy worked for Sega his entire life then suddenly switches to Nintendo as Sega is making massive cutbacks on staff and projected projects. It really means very little when Yasuhara who been working at Naughty Dog for several years now takes a job a Nintendo. I'm not saying I don't get why they wrote it like this but it doesn't make it any less disingenuous.
