Hi, I am new to this website and need some help. Bear with me if I used the wrong terminology.

I inherited a big, heavy, phone booth size Atari 5200 arcade system. I was told it was last used in 1982. It was just a show piece in a relative's basement. I have seen it work. Nothing appears to be broken. 49134914491549164917The problem is, the person who dropped it off at my house, took the components out without documenting the wiring. I basically have three pieces, a video screen, an electrical section and a control panel. I want to wire it correctly without blowing any fuses or damaging it, but have no idea what to connect to what.

My intention is to get it working then sell it. It is too heavy to move. I have games and some other parts to go with it. Attached are some photos. Does anybody know what this thing is worth if I can get it working?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Jim

What you have there is commonly known as a "Frankencab" It's a one of a kind custom built unit and there will be no schematics for it.
So it's just you and your Tim the Tool Man belt versus the Frankencab. Even if you got it working I dont see much money in it.
That thing is one ugly son of a bitch :) Just sell it as is and be happy with every dollar over fifty you get from that heap.

I believe that was a store demo unit. I saw one on Atariage a while back. I don't beleive it is a "frankencab" Here is the thread where someone was selling one http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/138266-selling-my-atari-5200-kiosk-for-cash-or-trade/page__fromsearch__1

Stringfellow is correct, it's the 5200 POP.
You can find the service manual for it here: http://www.atarimuseum.com/ahs_archives/archives/archives-techdocs-5200.htm
Unfortunately it appears that every other page is missing from the PDF.

Made any progress? I am curious to see it repaired. I would love to buy it if I had room and were closer.
