I know there was a 3DS thread, but I couldn't find it. Anyways. Purchased the 3DS a couple of weeks ago when Target was selling it for $145. Buy two get one free games at both Target and Amazon, I picked up Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, Tales of the Abyss, Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D, Resident Evil Revelations, and Dead or Alive Dimensions. The system has nothing else I'm interested in.

So just wanted to give my opinion after putting a good amount of time playing it.

Mario Kart 7 is easily the best game on the system, and while Mario Kart DS is better, Mario Kart 7 is still a great game. Online is good, but it has some flaws, such as when trying to go to the next race as there are times that the game will hang and just sit there endlessly. When you can get online though, it's a great experience. Kind of like how Twisted Metal is amazing when you can get online, except the difference between the two is that you can get a match far more often in Mario Kart 7 than Twisted Metal, so it's not that bad.

Super Mario 3D Land is decent, and then everything else is pretty eh. Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D is extremely responsive, but obviously, it's a mini game being sold as a full game, and gets very repetitive very quickly. One problem with Mercenaries and Revelations is that because of the low resolution of the 3DS and the fact that they want the games to be great looking graphically, the screen is zoomed up extremely close. Dead or Alive Dimensions doesn't seem to control as well as it does on any of the consoles, but that's more of a handheld issue than the game itself. Then Tales of the Abyss, while a good game, is the port of the PS2 game with a feature I don't use.

As for the system itself. I own the original fat DS and I thought the ergonomics of the system sucked, but it wasn't uncomfortable to play the system. The 3DS however just sucks to play for long periods of time, and by long periods of time, I'm speaking 30 minutes to an hour. The ergonomics of the system is just so bad that any game that I have to use the L and/or R button along with the rest starts giving me hand cramps. What is with Nintendo portables and shit ergonomics? They got it right with the GBA, then decided to fuck it up with the GBA SP, the DS(which was better than the SP,) and now the 3DS.

Then the Nintendo 3DS E Shop. All I have to say is that it's all around garbage.

I would have waited for the dual analog model, but I played Mario Kart 7 at a friends which is the only reason I picked up the 3DS. I purchased the other games only because they were games I was interested in and I got them at a deal. The fact that there's not much quality than Mario Kart 7 and the shitty ergonomics of the system makes it really not worth it at this time. The same could be said for the Vita, although, Uncharted, Wipeout 2048, and Unit 13 are good games, and the Vita has a great design.

The eShop is one of the best parts of the 3DS. Pushmo, Mighty Switch Force, VVVVVV, Sakura Samurai, Dillon's Rolling Western and Mutant Mudds are all great games.

I really like the new Kid Icarus, but they really should have delayed it a bit to make it fully compatible with the Circle Pad Pro. It would have made the game even better.

Please, please, please don't feed the troll. Hopefully the mods will lock this down quickly.

Yeah, because giving my opinion on the 3DS makes me a troll. Just because I don't think the 3DS is akin to golden rays of sunshine coming from the heavens doesn't mean that it's a troll post.

How about you check out the Playstation Vita thread where I was bashing about how much of a piece of shit Little Deviants is. Where were you when I was trolling then.

You shouldn't get so insecure over your reputation as a Sony fanboy here, no offense intended. When you get defensive like that, it hurts your original post. I do agree about the 3DS though. After playing it at Best Buy for a while, I decided that I was going to wait for an alternate model that hopefully had better ergonomics. That's been the case about Nintendo handhelds lately, unfortunately. There's no single solution with everything perfect about it.

You're absolutely right, what makes it a troll post is the dozens and dozens of other Nintendo bashing posts you have made over the past year, most of which had zero to do with the subject of the thread they were posted in in any way. As such, there is no reasonable inference other than that you started this thread to simply continue your standard irrational Nintendo bashing and to stir up hatred and discontent rather than to provide some insightful or interesting stepping off point for a discussion.

I agree with the Kid Icarus comment. But isn't there a way Nintendo could have some sort of patch to make it dual stick compatible?

Rob2600 does the same thing in every Xbox and Sony thread, I do not see anyone calling for his head. But I think it is common knowledge that fanboy bashing is a one way street on DP. You can bash Xbox and Sony all you want even attack their supporters, but if you go after Nintendo people like Rob2600 show up and crap all over the thread.

And people wonder why this message board has become a ghost town.

Being a fan boy is one thing and frankly, I have called out plenty of them in other threads (including Rob2600) whether it's Sony or 360 or Nintendo or whatever. Posting trolling threads here and elsewhere and constantly attacking one particular manufacturer or publisher in threads which are not even relevant is an entirely other thing. This guy constantly harps on Nintendo and the only purpose of this particular thread was to stir up negative feelings and attacks. Similarly, he jumped into a thread on hard to find or valuable Wii games the other day and posted comments about how there is no such thing as a good Wii game. Does that really provide any benefit to the community or make the community a welcome place for new users? Absolutely not. He contributes nothing and while I certainly believe he is entitled to his opinion, we don't need troll posts here as that is a sure way to frustrate new users and discourage people from participating.
