This kinda blew me away: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&item=160776421094&nma=true&rt=nc&si=VbdMNDUtJSav5yQ%252Bfm2daQ7NjK0%253D&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

I know this was a pack-in, but is it really that rare? Is this the going rate for it?

It is reasonably hard to find, yes... and that went for a hell of a lot more than I paid for mine (about $50).

You think that is bad did you see the sealed copy that sold recently? It broke the 1k mark.

I can add these facts to the discussion. Back when the Nintendo Gamecube was being sold I tried to track down all the different combos. The combo disc was only sold in this particular combo and I was only able to find it at Best Buy. However, I can not confirm it wasn't ever sold anywhere else. The Best Buy stores that I visited had 3-5 systems on the shelf vs the stacks and stacks of the other $99.99 bundles they would get. It was priced at $129.99 which I felt was high at the time as the other Nintendo bundle systems were all priced at $99.99. This particular unit was purchased on 08/30/05.

Damn. I wish mine was sealed. I picked it up at Gamestop a few years ago for around $20 and only kept it because I was building a Metroid Prime collection. But I had no idea this game was going for so much. If opened ones start going for more than $200 I might have to sell mine.

Well the price is climbing and it may be the hardest Gamecube game to find. Plus Zelda and Metorid collectors are all looking for it. Keep all that it mind. If you sell it now it could get very expensive to replace later on.

---edit----

Found the sealed sale at $1600.00 w positive feedback left.

Also another past sale of a complete copy also for $200 from a Canada seller.

Grrr. This version has eluded me thus far. I responded to a CL ad that had a system and the combo in the ad pictures, and they weren't stock photos. Went a pretty long ways and a guy a little older than me answered the door. 2 kids were in the background, maybe 9 or 10, and brought the system up and handed it to me. I asked about the games and the kids got a panicked look. The dad apparently had no idea what was going on, so I explained that the ad had a couple of games listed in it. He asked his kids if that was right, and they scurried off and came back with a couple of junk sports games. I explained that the picture had zelda and metroid in it, and again he asked his kids, but this time they denied it. The dad seemed clueless and wasn't going to make them do the right thing so I just handed it all back and walked away. Haven't seen one since.

I'm tring to find a scan of the 2005 best buy Black Friday ad online.

If this unit was a Black Friday Best Buy exclusive then it should be clear as day in the ad.

Anyone know where to look?
