Columns Mega Drive import?

Hello.

I live in Boston and a month ago I found a copy of Columns for the Genesis at a thrift store for $1.50. The thing is, all markings on the box, manual and cart say mega drive. Is there a way I can figure out if this is an import and what country it came from? I will attach pictures. Thanks for the help!

Otherwise it isn't too interesting. Columns is one of those games with a world rom chip. Identical data in most carts global. Like Sonic 2, T-Mek, etc.

Sonic 2 isn't the same worldwide. Japanese Sonic 2 writes MILES on the screen for Tails unlike the US version.

As for the OP, that's a PAL MD game.

Yes but I was referring to the actual rom chips. Not console region mode changes.
