allot of retro game fans like myself got cheated looking for the longer gamebit to fit all the way down inside the deepest hole of the virtual boy. let's face it, life is hard if you have to grind or drill the plastic of your classic virtual boy. so here is some reputable sources in case you find yourself looking for the right bit at the right price. feel free to correct me if i'm wrong or contribute with your source so that we can develop a legit list for all to use when hunting for this tool.

make sure you don't get the black colored ones. those aren't long enough. although the one from sources comes close, it still doesn't reach in to the deepest hole of the virtual boy. the one some sources is black in color. the stainless steel ones appear to be the longer ones that work all the time.

I used a grinder to round the shorter bits in order to fit years ago, but this would be really helpful for those that aren't willing or able to do so. Thanks for the links!

my first bit was made from a bic pen and then i graduated to a dremel and flat head screwdriver...
those tricks including yours are worth doing if you don't want to buy one.
hopefully a nice size list can be built so others can have a reference point.
wouldn't want to see anyone lose a finger trying to make a bit with a dremel.

No worries, solid gamebits are hard to find. Janky poor shobby tools of this kind are sold on eb*y am*zon cr*iglist so it was cool to see that you came correct with your supplier.
that reminds me, suggestion number 3
gamebit for virtual boy and sega nomad is now in a reputable kit
I went through allot of money finding this kit. Most kits are mad from ultra cheap steel which just bends and snaps under any normal force.
Also the shobby type gamebit parts are normally too big and too much lip to fit into any Nintendo device N64 Virtual Boy SNES Game Cube or Sega Nomad
For those shobby sets, I would warn that you stay away.
So back to suggestion 3, just got a little side tracked reminiscing

Third on the list is the Virtual Boy Gaming Set
Solid Virtual Boy Sega Nomad Game Boy Game Cube SNES N64 Gaming Tool Kit (https://www.newelectronx.com/proddetail.php?prod=security-screwdriver-bit-set-103)

be warned there has been some secret promotional codes floating around for discounts.
some of them are pure scams, but i have tried and used this one newelectronx-digitpress to get 5 bucks off the gaming tool kit set
a better promotional code was given to me by a mate which is rumored to give free international shipping, like i said use with caution newelectronx-worldwide-free-shipping
what i have found is that some of the codes are case sensitive - try writing them like i did here or mixing it up. copy and paste is your best friend.

I just modded my Nomad and used a bit that I purchased over 10 years ago. I had one of the bits that was long enough but slightly too thick in diameter to fit easily. I ended up forcing it in slightly and it worked okay, where I didn't notice any significant damage to the plastic.

I really should invest in a better kit. Thanks for posting the info.

Had I known of your situation, I would have sent you a free set. I had a extra set lying around for months. Just recently loaned it out. It never seemed to return back to me. So, I guess I gave it away. Not a big deal, because normally when I get extra stuff I'll give it away any way. I have the kit now, and I have more weird bits than I would know what to do with. I can probably open anything. Any ways in the future before you go opening and ruining your classic gaming systems let me know I could probably find something lying around that I don't use or shot you a promotional code that worked for me a friend.

O, let me clarify "set" the set was 4.5mm and 3.8mm and triple thr3at nextwizt screwdriver handle that I wasn't using and since the kit, had these inside of it. I didn't see any reason to ask for the set back. Besides the other guy needed it more than I did. I guess this is basically my long way of saying "your welcome" If it helps in any way down the long haul then consider us even.

Wow! I didn't know you were a member of this site! :) Great bar-b-Que during the summer!

Anyways, I can vouch for this guy having great products. I love his NES simulated stereo A/V cable, great quality. As for friendliness, top notch, you can't find a nicer guy out there.
