$30 disc containing an emulated version of Kirby Super Star maybe? I sure hope not...

Either way, it will sell out quickly and hundreds of entries will be on ebay "$80 B.I.N. SEALED RARE L@@K" a couple days later.

This. Besides, it's already been done on DS.
Though technically, the Wii Mario compilation contained four complete games. Kirby Super Star adds up to about one game, since each episode it has is only a few levels long. I'm guessing the lineup will be something like:
Kirby's Dream Land (GB)
Kirby's Adventure (NES)
Kirby's Dreamland 2 (GB)
Kirby's Dreamland 3 (SNES)
Kirby 64 (N64)
If they're feeling generous, they'll also include Super Star, and possibly Dream Course. Worst case, it's just the Wii Kirby games in a double-pack.

If it costs $50 and includes everything up to 16bit then it's more than worth it. Hopefully it includes Superstar, Dream Course, Adventure, and Nightmare in Dreamland(remake of Adventure.)

Hoping it includes Kirby Super Star and Kirby's Dream Land 3. Don't own the original cartridges for those nor do they work on my multicart (Although I own the DS release of Super Star), so I've planned to download them off the Virtual Console someday. Would rather have both games and hopefully a few more on a physical disc.
I hear NOA stated on their Twitter account that this will be coming stateside, so that's good news.

I'm actually looking forward to this. Though I've been gaming since the NES days, I've somehow never even played any Kirby game. I don't know why, as I have nothing against games with cute characters..
I would like to see it include possibly the best Kirby game to date: Kirby's Pinball Land.

True, but could you imagine how cool it would have been to be able to tilt the table in that Kirby pinball game by rotating the GB too?

Game List Revealed (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/354925/kirby-20th-anniversary-collection-detailed/)
Solid games, though no "all-stars" type of treatment. Without at least color improvements for the GameBoy games, I am more on the fence about this collection. Guessing the price will be $30.

Surpasses my expectations. I was hopeful we'd get the NES, two SuperNes, and the N64 release. The two classic Game Boy platformers are just icing on the cake. Nice to see all the classic Kirby platformers included here with only spinoffs (and platformers from the past decade) being absent.
Glad I've never bought the two SuperNes games on the Virtual Console. Been close more than once but something else always caught my eye. Would've been $16 wasted in light of this. At least Kirby's Adventure only cost me $5 (And if Super Mario All-Stars was any indication, this won't maintain the save state feature of the VC so my download still will have something to offer over this release).
Not a big Kirby fan so this is a nice and cheap way to experience more of the series.

By the way, do you guys think this could make for a much-needed price drop on Kirby's Dream Land 3?

Yeah, had to rewind and double check when I first watched the clip. Thought my eyes done deceived me!
Also noticed that many of Kirby's side games (Pinball, Avalanche, Dream Course) are shown in the same section. Would be nice if those were unlockables. Probably won't be, but would be nice.

If they had unlockable games on here, they'd be mentioning it in that trailer.
It's not something they'd be keeping quiet on I suspect.

I'd be interested in picking it up for the two SNES titles, which were released late in the console's lifespan and always seemed tough to find.

Gamestop.com is now showing $49.99. I must admit that I am a little disappointed in the price as it seems kind of high, but I suppose it's more content and not just re-packaged stuff that has already seen a digital release, so it's a slightly meatier package than Mario was.

I don't know how I missed this thread two months ago but I'm glad I caught it today!
I have fond memories (albeit much later) of Kirby's Dream Land and Kirby's Adventure. I had the Game Boy game in cartridge form several years ago but got rid of all of my Game Boy games. I still pop in the NES game from time to time and breeze through. I am not too fond of Kirby Super Star and it was one of the games I got rid of when going through my collection to see what would stay or go. I had Kirby's Dream Land 3 on Virtual Console, but deleted it off as I decided I didn't play it enough (and I like my games to be a physical object instead of a download). I haven't played Kirby 64 in a while, but I want to get back into it. I think it's just a pain in the butt to hook up the N64 to play it...it's not complicated but I just don't feel bothered. I do like the fact it will come with a soundtrack CD and a booklet. (That is what hooked me on Super Mario All-Stars: 25th Anniversary Edition.)
I will definitely be picking this up in September! I wonder what the control scheme will be like. Will it allow for a Gamecube controller, or am I going to have to repurchase a Classic Controller? (Got rid of mine when I deleted all my Virtual Console games!)

Everything here is on the Virtual Console with the exception of Kirby's Dreamland 2 which will certainly be released digitally eventually (Unlike Super Mario All-Stars which wasn't on Nintendo's Virtual Console). Download prices, assuming Dreamland 2 is priced the same as the first, comes out to be $39.
If it's $50, I'm passing. Just not big enough of a Kirby fan at that price. But my guess is this is simply a placeholder price so they can start taking orders and refund the difference when a MSRP becomes known.
I just don't see Nintendo pricing this at $50. I think they're going to match the price point for Super Mario All-Stars which was $29.99.
I am not too fond of Kirby Super Star and it was one of the games I got rid of when going through my collection to see what would stay or go.
I've done my best to get into this (Via the DS port) but just don't like it. For one thing, there's just too many darn doors all over the place. Don't like just randomly stumbling around in a 2D platformer.
I hope I enjoy the Dreamland games (Never played any of them). I like Kirby's Adventure, didn't like Super Star, I didn't care for Kirby 64 after briefly trying it years ago, and enjoyed myself in Epic Yarn (That's the extent of my experiences with this series).
Hope I like the original three Dreamland games or this will be a bit of a waste for me.
I do like the fact it will come with a soundtrack CD and a booklet. (That is what hooked me on Super Mario All-Stars: 25th Anniversary Edition).
While I hope to be surprised, I have zero expectations where both of these are concerned after the very disappointing way that the booklet and soundtrack CD turned out for Super Mario All-Stars.
At least this has some sort of on-disc history section which is a step in the right direction.
I wonder what the control scheme will be like. Will it allow for a Gamecube controller, or am I going to have to repurchase a Classic Controller?
Their emulators support the GameCube controller and Super Mario All-Stars also supported it. So I can't imagine why this one wouldn't.

If you hate random doors stay away from Kirby And The Amazing Mirror on the GBA, I didn't like how the levels worked as it was really easy to get lost and I ended up travelling in circles.
As for the Dreamland games, those were the first Kirby games and I liked them. The play like the NES game Kirby's Adventure. I haven't played Dreamland 3 though, just the first two games.

I pre-ordered this and I really hope that $49.99 is only a temp price. I'm wondering if Nintendo saw the mayhem that ensued with the Super Mario All Stars set and decided to raise the price avoid having to do a 2nd print run. :? At any rate, I know GS likes to use placeholder pricing on things so I'm crossing my fingers.

If I didn't already own all of the games in this collection, I'd buy it for sure. However, $30 - $50 is a bit much for some fancy packaging, a booklet, and a music CD.

It's certainly possible that $49.99 is a place holder. I'm more concerned about what the packaging will be like. I had a terrible time finding a Mario in decent condition after Amazon smashed two of them on me and the local TRU strangled them with spidertags. I finally found one at a local GS that never got picked up. I don't really like pre-ordering with GS, but I might to assure that I get a nice one at the local store.

Thanks for pointing that out! I kind of forgot that the Gamecube controller was supported for the Virtual Console games. In my opinion, the biggest plus for the Classic Controller is that its layout is most like a Super Nintendo controller and therefore easiest for playing the NES/SNES games. I love my Wavebird controller, though, and that means my controller is not tethered to the Wiimote and sitting in my lap!

Based on the video above, it is being released for 3800 Yen. Using Yahoo's Currency Converter, that would be $47.61. The $49.99 placeholder may not be that far fetched...

I think 3800 yen is rather cheap for a new Wii game in Japan. I'm pretty sure most Wii games with a MSRP of $49.99 in the US cost between 5800 and 6800 yen when they were first released in Japan. If they're selling it as a budget title in Japan, I'd be surprised if they'd charge $49.99 here.

You may be right. I was only going based on conversion. If that's the budget price there then we may very well see a budget price here too. I know one thing....$20....$30....$50....it don't matter...I'm buying it!

Since I missed out on Kirby back in the day (only recently have I started getting some of the Wii and DS titles in the series), this anniversary compilation is perfect for me. Obviously, if you already own the original games, it may not be so interesting as a release.
That can't be the American box art. Let me fix that for you. There! Now it is more in line with the others.
And it's not just Kirby that gets "remade" with angry eyes. Check out the American Mario merchandise. Back in the day it was cartoony and happy, though sometimes of course he'd be panicked or running or sweating, but he had a cheery disposition. However these days not only is Mario rendered in CGI (and much worse looking in my opinion), but he always looks angry and "gangsta."

So it's coming out today for $40. Who's picking it up? I will either today or mostly likely tomorrow. On top of the included booklet and 60-minute soundtrack CD, there's also 3 episodes of the Kirby anime series, according to the few reviews out already.
Methinks I'll have to connect my Wii one of those days (haven't done so since the move, 2 1/2 months ago).

Still a little disappointed these are just emulated games. Would have loved to see an "All-Stars" type of treatment, but guessing that will never happen again.
Lady Jaye

If you own the game or have them in Virtual console edition, it's redundant. But if you don't, it is worth the $40 even for emulation. You do get six games and new challenges in a graphical style similar to Return to Dream Land, plus a little museum, 3 episodes of the Kirby anime, a 1-hour soundtrack CD, and a nicely illustrated booklet (which is separate from the actualy printed game manual). About the only thing missing are the Kirby TV commercials -- that would have been fun to have on disc.
I certainly don't regret buying it, but then again, I didn't have those games before.

I think it's not bad. I was able to get mine for $30 at Target by price matching Fry's. The box is half the depth of the Super Mario Allstars one and isn't sealed on either side for some reason. I thought it was odd but I checked all the copies at Best Buy and Toys R Us and they are also not sealed. In any event, the outer box seems thicker than the Super Mario one and the contents inside are decent, but not really amazing in any way. I think it will probably drop in price as there wasn't any real rush on them at any of the stores I visited this week.
