Looks like someone took a look at Mario Kart 7 and said, "We can do that too!" So now S&ASRT will have air and water modes to go with the land racing. But besides the derived-feeling nature of this change, the game itself looks gorgeous and I'm happy to see even more SEGA characters and environments of yore revived. :D

Would rather see something like Outrun 3 or a port of Sega Super GT.
At least Super Hang-On is coming out this month.

Day 1 purchase for me! This looks like a total love letter to all things Sega and with Sumos track record I have complete faith this will be amazing.
The Panzer Dragoon level brought a tear to my eye... seriously. Richard Jaques handling the music will be awesome! The Hydro Thunder style water sections will bring back a flood (pun intended) of memories. Vyse from Skies of Arcadia and tons more. God I can't wait.
The first game was an amazingly well done game, this one looks to be a masterpiece.

I can't wait for this game. The first one was severely underrated. I had bought a Wii not long before it came out and was on the fence about it. When I bought it and started playing it I loved it from the start. The tracks and physics were very well done and the game was just plain fun as hell. Any sega fan had to have loved the sega theamed levles. I loved the sabma di amigo and house of the dead ones myself. This one looks like they took the formula a kicked it up a few notches. There’s a good article on ign about it

My only concern is do i buy the ps3 version or the 3ds version?

From what I understand, Sony is really pushing for content exclusives with this one including Vita connectivity. So you might want to get that one of the two. Read TSSZ News for more details. Plus the Nintendo DS S&SASR was really lacking in my opinion and I'd imagine the 3DS to fare little better. Then again, 3DS games have more storage so perhaps it will fare well after all.

Ya i saw some vids of the ds sonic and sega back when it was new, the graphics werent so great. The 3ds games do look very nice and when the 3d is done right like in mario kart 7 and S. mario 3d land it does add to the game.
The thing that I dont like is that some times handheld ports are compleetely different games and not for the better. The ps3 Sonic generations is a fun game but the 3ds version is a totaly different game and dosent even have the same levles and isn't very fun from what iv'e heard.

I was a huge fan of the original and have most of the achievements. I'll get the sequel especially if the tracks have more variety I don't think the first game was diverse enough in the tracks only 4 games were represented.
Sega could make a ton of money out SSBing SSB. They already out did Mario Kart.

And they could call it Fighters Megamix 2!

I really enjoyed the first one, I would even consider buying this one at full price this time. A polished cart-racer that actually lets you use an actual controller. Imagine that.
Too bad it's coming out during one of the biggest gaming blockbuster Fall seasons ever.

Which ones don't?
Even Mario Kart Wii had a full range of options. Always used my WaveBird controller in that game and it worked perfectly.

While the Wavebird is the best option for MK Wii, the game was obviously designed with other control schemes in mind. It's always felt like a last second addition that Nintendo added begrudgingly.
Anyway, I was speaking of MK DS and MK7. Two excellent games configned to awkward handheld controls.

Never felt that way to me. It has worked perfectly since day 1 and never felt tacked on and not optimized. Don't even need a Wiimote to navigate the ingame menus.
Nintendo clearly intended to support every available controller option. Wiimote by itself, Wiimote and nunchuck combo, Classic Controller, and GameCube controllers. None of them feel like they were playing second fiddle to me.

Neat.
Anyway, like I mentioned before, I was referring to polished cart-racers with shit controls like MK DS and MK7. It's nice to have one that uses a real controller.

You already said that. ;)
I was responding to your other paragraph in your previous post.

I rented the first game and had fun with it, although I never understood why I kept getting beaten online so easily. I don't think I won a single race. But if this one is similiar to the first(and it should be) then I'll eventually be picking this one up as well.

Probably because too many people take advantage of a horrible glitch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_9F-YDkjeo), which has never been fixed. I still found plenty of people who didn't cheat, but it's a shame this wasn't corrected. Hopefully, the same issue won't occur in the next installment.
