Most of my items are enroute and I'll have pics in a couple days or so. But somebody needed to make this thread.

It been slow on the gaming front. I've haven't found anything good in a while. That, and most of my spare cash has been going to my PS3 savings fund.
Today, I did find a few interesting things, but not all of them are game related:
Pokemon VHS Tapes for $1.00 each (Used) - I got four tapes that had some of my favorite episodes. Half the tapes are pretty worn out, but they're still better quality than the episodes I taped from the TV.
Sailor Moon Transformation Locket for 85 cents (Used) - I've been wanting one of these since I was a kid. It's kind of scuffed, and there was corrosion in the battery compartment. But after giving it a clean, I discovered it actually still works!
Sailor Moon Crescent Moon Jewelry Box for 85 cents (Used) - This toy isn't based on anything from the show or manga. However, it kind of reminds me of Sailor Venus' compact from her self titled manga.
I looked up the values of the two Sailor Moon toys, and I was shocked at how much people are paying for these things! @_@
EDIT: In my excitement over the SM toys, I forgot to mention my one other find.
Bag of 15 Digimon Figures for 85 cents - They're only 2 inches tall, but are very well made. Oh, and they're all Digimon featured in season 2 of the anime.

Not only do I like your name lol, but nice find on the locket.
I'm a huge sega fan myself.
If you ever think about getting rid of the locket let me know.

I have a find that arrived today.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/180863491091?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Was pretty excited about finding this lot. I guess the 79.99 pricetag and the Sega CD problems scared people away. I needed the boxed Game Genie and the remote arcade pads. Everything else will be sold off at some point. That CIB Toejam & Earl is worth 1/4th+ of what I paid for the entire lot by itself. I already own a CIB copy though so no reason to have two. The Sega CD has a BIOS problem and I have several of those lying in my parts BIN; switch out some parts and I'll have another working system to resell.
Also had the documentation for the Model 1 Sega CD. I did not have one of those and that will be sufficient until I finally pony up the money for a boxed system. Sadly I have all of the games but that's just more money in my pocket. The lot even included a CIB copy of Sewer Shark; long time since I've seen one of those. However, I despise that game so it'll be sold too.

technically an April find but I just got around to hooking it up and testing it. PSOne with power and av cable, no controller, 2.99 at Goodwill. Doesn't always read game discs, but 60% of the time, it works every time.

Okay...
So today was mostly a bust. No CDs, no games, no music, no software. Nothing. I was pretty sad because I found nothing. Then I went to a booth that was just dumping stuff and I saw this.
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2012-05-02.jpg
... not just one, though. There were quite a few of these. BRAND NEW IN THE BAGGIE. I grabbed 'em all up and the seller wanted me to pay $1 for five... but I negotiated (before she realized just how many I grabbed) and ended up charging me six bucks.
Six dollars. For eighty one sealed Lunar Silver Star Story Complete maps. I'm not kidding. I figured, I can probably sell or trade these for cheap stuff but holy poop someone sold a used one of these for thirteen bucks on eBay last week. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I'M GONNA MAKE A LOT OF MONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY (yeah right)
Also of note that booth had a disc only Dark Wizard, and the back of a Vay case, both for Sega CD. Whoever had this stuff before was probably a Working Designs nut of a sort. Too bad the games were trashed. :(

I don't usually post my finds but I found something neat enough to post. It's still new, and I've since taken the price sticker off without damage.

I'm planning to keep it sealed new, it's near impossible to find this type of stuff new anymore. Plus I don't have the comforter to match it, and my bed isn't twin size anyway. I'm not usually into merchandise that much but vintage Sonic stuff is what I always hope to find. :)
I found other stuff too but nothing really that special.

I bought a lot of "untested" controllers on eBay for some Sega gear and found these in the lot. I'm sure the joystick isn't worth anything (there's no manufacturer mark on it) but I want to make sure before I strip it down for parts. Those buttons will work great for a PS3 arcade stick I have planned.
However, I'm stumped by the blue PS1 controller. I've never seen one like it. Unlike the black controller, there's no model information on the back and as you can see, most of the labeling is non-existent. The only thing I can possibly think of is this went with one of the debugging units but I don't think the colors match and I've never seen a debug unit with one of these controllers. It weighs the same as the black controller (and my gray ones of the same model) and if I take it apart, I'm sure I'll confirm it as an official Sony controller. However, I don't feel like doing that right at this minute.
Does anyone have information on it?

That controller reminds me of the near perfect knockoff controllers that can be found in every half assed "import" store, many variations differ from official ones only by the complete lack of any labeling. It probably won't make your PlayStation turn into goo but that is almost certainly trash.
Edit: Note the similarities:

Speaking of PS1 controllers of different colors, this reminded me of a white playstation controller I saw a while ago. Does anyone know what colors the Original PS Controllers came in? I don't know if it was just sunfaded badly or what but it definitely wasn't the stock gray color (nor was it the "psone rebranded" controller since there were no analogs).

Yeah that was a first generation color controller, a few others I have seen in the SCPH-1080 are red and smoke, most colors are harder to find that their DualShock counterparts.

This was actually one of the last days of April, but I didn't get around to it. Picked these up off CL, with a working Vec system for $130 total. Star Trek is CIB and in very very nice shape, and there is an extra cart only ST, too.

And things keep getting a bit better...
I picked up a CD from a booth on Monday - The Chemical Brothers' "Come With Us" but when I got home I realized that the case had the wrong CD inside (Surrender). I needed a replacement disc for that since my own copy was unrippable, but I was still missing "Come With Me" so I decided to go to the same booth to see if I found a Surrender with the wrong disc. I didn't. Instead I found these...
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2012-05-03.jpg
Front Mission 3
Confidential Mission
Skies of Arcadia (missing disc 1)
$4
I saw a bunch of Dreamcast games at a booth and I already owned all of them, except Confidential Mission and Skies of Arcadia. I picked up Skies first, but was sad at not finding disc 1 in there. So I grabbed Confidential Mission, walked around the booth, and noticed Front Mission 3 just sitting there on top of a bunch of DVDs. I grabbed it, it looked fine, so I asked for a price and the seller said "$3". I asked if that was per game or for both... she said for both. I would've gladly paid $3 each but hey, I'm not complaining! I was about to leave but I asked about the Skies with the missing disc and the seller said I could have it for a buck. I'll try to track down disc 1 now.
This is the same booth where I got Saga Frontier a bit ago for $3, too.

I found a game I've been wanting to try for a while:
Jade Cocoon: Story of the Tamamayu for $10 (Used, Complete)
I was browsing through one of my local hunting spots, and I noticed this one among a stack of unpriced PS1 games behind the counter. The shop owner let me have it for $10, mentioning that he hadn't looked up the value yet, and I was probably getting a deal. After looking up the value myself, I only saved around 5 - 7 bucks. Here's a interesting fact: the game's characters were designed by a member of Studio Ghibli.
Some cool finds from the goodwill store earlier today:
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a54/Zamioa/e55aca24.jpg
-Color books (x2) ~ .25 cents each
-Pokemon Platinum (Brand New x2) ~ $5 each
-Pokemon Black (Brand New) ~ $5
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a54/Zamioa/577fc696.jpg
-Psyduck sound moving toy ~ .99 cents
-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles poker cards ~ .99 cents
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a54/Zamioa/d59fddce.jpg
-Metroid Prime Trilogy (Complete and in Near Mint condition) ~ $5
A good way to end my final semester in college with some great games to add to my collection :bday:

The last of my stuff has finally arrived.
http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC1357.jpg
Running Microsoft Office 2000 book $1
Norton AntiVirus for Mac $3
Microsoft Works Suite 2002 $3
Microsoft Office 97 Standard Edition $3
Windows ME ugrade disc $3
Castlevania: Judgement(Wii) $6.99
Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom(Wii) $9.99
Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles(PSP) $9.99
Tekken: Dark Ressurection(PSP) $9.99
Final Fantasy Chronicles(PS1) 3 for $10
Klonoa(PS1) 3 for $10
Ghost In The Shell(PS1) 3 for $10
Goodwill had a bunch of Microsoft software but I only grabbed the stuff with cd keys. I should have probably passed on the Windows ME disc though. The Wii and PSP games were all clearance games. I needed more reasons to play my Wii and PSP. But the PSP will definitely be played for these. I found the PS1 games at a flea market in the city. It's nice to see that Klonoa is still rare after all this time.
http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC1355.jpg
Smallville seasons 1-5 $4 each
Pride Championship belt $2
Panasonic HDD DVD Recorder $20
Halo: The Fall of Reach novel 63 cents
Vampire Hunter D vhs $1
Seasons 4 and 5 of Smallville aren't pictured because I gave those to my mom to further complete her collection. I found a Panasonic hdd and dvd recorder a few months ago at a Goodwill for the same $20 and quickly flipped it for $400. Unfortunately this one doesn't have a remote or a/v cables. It's going to take some work but I think I can make it doable. I don't think I've ever watched the first VHD anime yet but the second is one of my favorite anime movies. And I never get tired of wrestling and mma belts to hang up in my room of doom.
http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC1372.jpg
Conker's Bad Fur Day(N64) sealed $61
Pokemon Yellow(GB) $3.50
Pokemon Crystal(GB) $3.50
Pokemon Gold(GB) $3.50
Help Wanted demo(Wii)
Marble Saga demo(Wii)
Marble Saga beanie new
Conker's isn't the best copy I've ever seen but it's still factory sealed and thats gotta count for something. The three Pokemon games were Goodwill finds. They were mixed in several bins of portable games, scattered thru out. I was hoping to find all the other colors but the only other thing I found was the Pokemon Pinball game and I passed on that because I had one before that took me forever to sell. The two Wii demos and beanie were all from a $10 lot I won in an auction. I just wanted the demos but the beanie is a nice bonus.

Don't set your hopes too high, the second film was great but the first was pretty terrible. I watched the first after seeing the second and was very disappointed. The first was released in North America as a theatrical film but it was originally produced as a direct-to-video OVA in Japan, the second was produced as a film originally so it had a higher budget. Nice finds with those PS1 games btw.
I did find something today, a complete copy of Chrono Cross for $2.99 plus tax. I was happier about something else though, I mentioned last month about having a copy of Microsoft Word 98 for Mac and I ended up selling it today. Someone needed it to read old documents created in the mid 90's. I'm happy it's gone.
I wish my Goodwill was that awesome...
Don't give up, some searches will be fruitless while other times, it may be worth the effort. It's mostly a combination of luck, being patient, and being there at the right place and time :)

It's written upside down as $3.03, some Goodwills price things weird for some reason. No idea why they charged him $4 each, I guess they couldn't read it properly. Worked out well for me once, I was charged $2.02 for PC software that was priced $2.52. I didn't notice until I got home and checked the receipt, it's really their fault for being too cheap to use actual price stickers.

Yeah those are price tags and they actually say "$3.93". Don't ask me why but thats how they price their items, like the "63 cents" novels. I put the price of the Pride Championship belt as $2 but it's actually priced $1.91. I don't know what their fascination with odd numbers is but apparently thats how they roll.
Gameguy

I was mostly looking at the one in the middle and I couldn't see that as a "9". It's just weird. I've noticed that Goodwills with weird pricing just write the price on everything while the ones with normal "X.99" pricing use actual price tags. I'm not sure why it varies so much depending on the location.

I've come to believe that pricing like that is done to make it harder for crooks to change the prices, especially at places where the write the price on with a grease pen. I've brought stuff up that clearly looked like a certain price and they'll say 'we don't have anything that would have that price' and either take it for re-pricing or correct the price. Not saying it is a particularly effective method. Or maybe it helps them with inventory.

Actually, I should have probably said my Goodwill USED to be awesome... I used to be able to find boxed NES and SNES games there on a regular basis, but over the past two years it steadily got worse... most likely due to the lurkers who hang out there all day waiting for new merch to be wheeled out. Blah.

I'll post some pics up tomorrow but I found a 360 Rock Band lot at the local auction house tonight. $7 grabbed me the drums, stand, some parts, but notably one of the Gibson guitars.
Also picked one of these up for $65:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=univox+custom+&_cqr=true&_nkwusc=univox+custon&_rdc=1
However, the one I bought is missing the strings and needs some TLC. Probably going to sell it as-is because I don't know anything about guitar repair. Also came with the factory (I believe) case but it's also in POS condition. Then I picked up a huge box of various NIB Rocketfish and Dynex gear (S-Video cables, cell phone covers, etc) for $17. Also grabbed a NIB portable 5" B&W tv for $2. Can't remember the maker but it's not a "cheapo" brand. Maybe Samsung?
I think that's it besides some random odds and ends. Oh, and a Radio Shack metal detector for $10.

So i was out this morning hitting some flea markets and garage sales and figured i would do my weekly stop at my local game exchange. Didn't see anything on the shelves really worth getting but had to get a few game discs resurfaced and a guy came in with a bag of old genesis, nes, n64 stuff.
He puts them up to sell and I hear him talking about he wanted to hear value on one of the games they would give him as he might keep it as it is one of the rarest NES games and is worth a couple hundred bucks. So I peak over and it is the game you see below.
Well the guy pulls it up in the computer and says $10 cash or $14 credit. The guy said no I will keep it, so i ask if it was ok to offer to buy it from the guy since he wasn't selling it to them and the guy knows me and said no problem at all.
So i asked him what he wanted and he said $50, I told him that was fair but I only had $45 in my wallet and if he would take it. So i emptied my wallet and gave him the $45.
Game Exchange would have sold it for $35, so i paid $10 more than they had it coded for but it was definately right place and right time. The guy working the store knew it was rare but wasn't sure on price though.

NES With Everything An Action Set Included (Aside From A NES Max In Place of A Zapper) - 3
PS2 & Genesis Box - 15
Asked 5 for the NES & took 3. The guy said I could have the whole box for 15 when he saw me digging in the PS2, Genesis box. The seller was actually an old regular who I used buy older games from when he had them who quit selling about 2 years ago. BSing with him for a few minutes it sounded as if he was just trying to move lots of stuff today and wasen't going to be selling regularly again. Socom 3 & THUG 2 are missing the games, the rest for the most part are complete.

Dollar a guide and 3 for the Trak-ball, offered 5. RE3 was 2, offered 1 and we meet in the middle. The other 2 PS1 games were also 2 each and offered 3 for 2. Mystical Ninja was actually from a different flea market I only end up going to a few times a year and was asking price.
I though I was rather lucky finding a cart only Sparkster in this Genesis lot but looking at some of the NES goodness in the last few posts it pales in comparison lol

I went to the flea market this weekend, and even though it was a little rainy, I left with some good finds:
Pokemon Puzzle League (N64) $5
Jet Force Gemini (N64) $5
Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine (N64) $5
Mario Kart 64 (N64) $5
Mario Kart: Double Dash!! w/ Bonus Disc (GCN) $7
Ghostsweeper Mikami Volume 1 (Cantonese Laserdisc) $1
I also had some nice eBay finds over the past week:
Mr. Do! (SNES) $14
Zoop (Jaguar) $7
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 CIB (Genesis) $10
Star Wars: Ewok Adventures (2600) $12
DragonBall Z Dead Zone and World's Strongest Subtitled VHS release by Pioneer/Funimation NEW $7
I was very happy with the Mr. Do! and Zoop pickups, I've been wanting both games for awhile. Star Wars: Ewok Adventures was something I just stumbled upon, but it seems to be a bit hard to find, and looks interesting. The two subtitled DBZ VHS tapes aren't exactly rare, but can be hard to locate. Glad to add them to my collection!

Well, it's been a few months since I've been on DP. I had a shit-storm hit, and...
The worst was being cased from the pawn shop I've been hitting daily. Some meth head saw me buy a bunch of crap, and followed me home. Luckily, he didn't get much, and I got his plate #, and he's in jail now. But for a while there, it kinda took the fun out of collecting. I'll start posting my finds again, at least when they're this cool:

At Best Buy they have new copies of Duke Nukem Forever discounted to $2.99 so I picked one up.
At the Trade Secret thrift store I picked up Gangster Alley ($1.50) for the VCS and 2nd issue of Madman Adventures (falling out of the picture to the left, $1).
An animal shelter thrift had Microsoft Arcade and Return of Arcade complete, in the box for $2/each. I've only managed to find the floppies in the past, passing them up then. Having everything was a cool factor so I went ahead and bought them.
Shipwreckers! on the Playstation ($2) and three SMS titles: Hang On/Astro Warrior, Great Basketball, and Hang On/Safari Hunt ($2). Each SMS game came with manuals and didn't have before. Had not seen Shipwreckers! and found the back side quirky, interesting, and having multiplayer is a big bonus.

It's been a while since I've posted a find because I've been trying to cut down on my shopping trips, thrift hunts, etc due to lack of fundage. The one thing that I've been wanting for a while is a PS Vita, but I decided that I had to sell stuff on ebay out of my collection to pay for one. So after a few weeks of selling (and great success by the way) I had more than enough to start looking for one. I looked for a week or so then settled on this ebay lot:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251048297441?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2F i.html%3F_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D251048297441%26_ rdc%3D1
Early edition 3g/Wi-Fi set - inclidng case, memory card, and Vita (missing Little Deviants)
5 games
Not a bad deal at all for $300 and when I got it I was amazed at the condition - looked almost untouched! Everything is complete (except the missing LIttle Deviants) and even the online passes aren't redeemed!
I'm working my way through Unit 13 right now and loving the Vita!

From a flea market the other day:
http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC1387.jpg
Snes, Doney Kong Country 2 strategy guide, World Cup USA 94, Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario Land $10
I really didn't want this whole lot, I just wanted the games. But for that price I figured why not. The console itself is worth $10 alone. I just wish he had more decent games. I passed on another Snes lot with more games but his system was in much worse condition.
http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC1380.jpg
Battlefield 3(360) $20
Classic Controller(Wii) $5
Microsoft webcam $5
Wii Fit hat $3
Legend of Dragoon(PS1) $3
Final Fantasy VII(PS1) $5
Marvel Vs. Capcom(PS1) $10
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards(N64) $2
Metal Gear Solid(PS1) $1
Sonic & Knuckles(Gen) $1
Batman: The Killing Joke 50 cents
Batman: A Death In The Family 50 cents
Most of this stuff was from the same flea market. Surprisingly I seemed to be the only one there looking for gaming stuff. That would have been perfect if there was actually some rare hard to find items but most of the stuff I found was commons. I probably overpaid on the MVC because I didn't offer him any lower than his asking price. Everything else was already priced cheap and I passed on a few other things too. The classic controller and Wii Fit hat were both found at Goodwill and Battlefield 3 was Best Buy's deal of the day last week. Makes me glad I held off on it last winter and decided to get MW3 instead. Now I have both for a good price.

Picked up a few things yesterday:
http://i1072.photobucket.com/albums/w361/SEGA_Queen/My%20Finds/SonicSpecialMag3.jpg
Sonic Super Special Magazine Issue 3 for $8.99 - I originally wasn't planning on getting this, because it's mostly reprints. But I still had a dollar's worth of credit at the store where I bought it, and I couldn't find anything else worthwhile.
After reading through it, I'm actually glad I did buy it. It has a nicely drawn prologue to Sonic 4 episode 2, and a reprint of one of my favorite issues, Sonic #25. Now I can retire my original copy of #25, and keep it in mint condition.
http://i1072.photobucket.com/albums/w361/SEGA_Queen/My%20Finds/ROD1.jpg
Read or Die Volume 1 for $1.99 - I've been looking for this manga for ages. Now I finally have the complete set for my collection!
http://i1072.photobucket.com/albums/w361/SEGA_Queen/My%20Finds/KeroroDVDBoxset.jpg
Keroro Gunso DVD Boxset for $13.99 - At first I thought this might be a bootleg set, since it had Chinese text all over it. But after doing some research, I discovered it actually a legitimate set from Taiwan of all places!
There's no english subs, only 2 versions of Chinese subs. As well as Japanese and Chinese language options. It doesn't really matter to me. I've already seen the translated versions of these episodes via Funimation's streaming site. And I can always use the manga as a refresher regarding the basic plot.
