Hi All,
Its rare I post (hummm), but I am stumped (and Onkyo aren't much help), I've got my Dreamcast back out and am trying to connect it via my Onkyo TX-NR709 via a VGA adaptor, I know the adaptor works etc if I plug the VGA straight into my Plasma, but via the Onkyo I get no picture. Onkyo say it isn't putting out a analog RGB signal and so won't, where as I believe it is!. Any suggestions people?

Sounds to me like the manufacturer didn't design it with the expectation of it ever recieving a 480p signal via VGA and doesn't know what to make of the signal you're sending it as a result.

Doubt there's anything you can do except hook your Dreamcast up directly.

I found this post from a google search. I have the same problem with the Onkyo TX-NR809. I even bought a VGA to HDMI converter from monoprice, and it can't see anything over HDMI as well. TV plays it just fine though.

Is the receiver set to upscale? If so, turn it off. If that doesn't fix the issue, it simply can't pass through that resolution via VGA.
