I vote for a Fire Pro game as well, but my selection would be Fire Pro D for Dreamcast. AWESOME moves and gimmick matches, and the best create a wrestler i've come across. Tops.

I love Fire Pro for Dreamcast, but I can't stand to wade through the Japanese menus all the time. It's too tedious to have translations printed out & go back & forth between paper & game just to set up a match.

So, my vote goes for N64's WWF No Mercy. If there's one thing the N64 did right, it was wrestling games.

Mega Drive - Royal Rumble

Ultimate Muscle on the Cube is getting a fair bit of play too.

Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 - N64

WWF No Mercy is a close second.

WWF Attitude for PSX. It was the only wrestling game I ever played more than a half dozen times, and I logged some serious hours into it.

Ah... you're one of those 'masochist' folks?

I'm a huge wrestling fan, and I remember spending $60 on WWF Warzone the day it came out for N64. Just the other day I sold like 5 sealed copies of it for PSX that I found for $1 a piece. It really pissed me off to think how much money I could have saved. This is why I don't buy new games at retail prices anymore.

Anyway, No Mercy is the best wrestling game IMO. I spent the most time playing Royal Rumble for Genesis though, that was my favorite video game for years back then.

I've got WWF Superstars for the original gameboy...unless its a different game.

The best wrestling game that I have played is Smackdown 2 for PS. I only have the first two WCW games for N64 so I haven't played WWF No Mercy. but I heard that was the best one.

WWF No Mercy for N64....is that anything like the first WWF game for the N64 by Acclaim, where you could make your own characters? Reason asking is because there's two replies already saying this is the best....yet I've played WWF Warzone (was that the name....? like said, first N64 WWF game), and it was HORRIBLE! Really slow, bad controls...nothing was good about it. WCW VS NWO was really good as was the second one (these are the only two I've played)...but I might have to go with the second WCW title of those two because there was way much more you could do, despite the lack of blood and knocking people unconscious like I'd do in EVERY match in the first one.

Let's see.....the 16-bit Acclaim WWF games are fun, though they are total button-mashers. My favorite of that 'era' though would be the arcade version of WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game. THAT was fun! Though it was like a 1/2 wrestling, 1/2 tournament fighting.

Of the NES games, the WWF games were totally laughable/lousy. NES Pro Wrestling was ironically one of the top 2, despite being an early release title. Best though I would have to say is TECMO WORLD WRESTLING. There was announcer captions at the bottom, and the wrestling action was highly playable.

WWF Warzone and WWF Attitude were by Acclaim. The engine was horrible, and it should have been stopped right there. They continued to use the engine for both ECW games. Just horrible.

WCW/NWO World Tour, WCW/NWO Revenge, WWF Wrestlemania 2000 and WWF No Mercy are all very good games. No Mercy is the most recent though, and has more features, so it's widely considered to be the best. WCW Nitro, WCW Thunder, WCW Mayhem, and WCW Backstage Assault all use some other engine, and are basically crap.

Of course the best thing about videogames about wrestling is that the outcome isn't pre-determined before you load the game up. ;)

I've always been fond of WCW/nWo Revenge for the N64. (always loved the control scheme and the 4-Player fun!)

I'm gonna have to say, as a recovering wrestling fanatic (across decades and continents...), that I truly prefer the WWF No Mercy-style Aki-designed 3D grapplers for the N64 over even the exalted Fire Pro Series (up to Firepro D, last I played). The Firepro series has the edge in options, but I really think that presentation-wise the 3D models on the N64 play out better and look more menacing, and give me more of a "In-the-ring" feel as I play.

close close second is WWF No Mercy, of course. I had so many CAWs on my copy before I sold it.

I have it too. It's look likes the arcade but without tag team and the good stuff the arcade have to offer.

And i have Superstars (the arcade) in my house also. :D

Saturday Night Slam Master his good too. But it's closer to a figthing game in my opinion.

Well my fav was Wrestlemania 2000. When No Mercy came out 2 of my friends bought it and both had their saved games erased, I remember reading that this was a bug in the game. This is the reason I never bought the game. I take it they fixed it because none of you guy mentioned this when talking about mercy.

Definetly No Mercy, best ever.
