I'm def picking up Akai Katana what about the rest of you guys? Who else shmups here?

Oh man, I forgot this was coming out. I don't know if I'll have the available funds to pick it up right off the bat, but I will get it in short order. I've been interested ever since I read a glowing review in Famitsu about it last May.

I played the Japanese demo. It's really just Progear on Speed but still, Gotta support the Shmup scene Maybe I'll warm up to it more once I spend more time with it.

I purchased a copy from Amazon, but will not be able to play it until I go home.

As a bit of a joke, I did toy with the idea of reserving Akai Katana at GameStop, and going there at midnight to try and pick it up amidst the Diablo and Max Payne hoopla. The stares and confusion from the employees would have been priceless! :)

As big a fan of Max Payne as I am Akai Katana is a bigger game to me. Shmups are gaming in it's purest form. Skill and score based.
I'll probably be buying a Vita for the Cave titles that will be on it eventually too.

Not sure if I like the Moe direction that Dodonpachi is going in though...
