So, are SNES controllers region-locked or no? Can anybody attest to this?

I can't imagine why not, you can certainly use Super Famicom controllers on a US SNES.

Well i know of US snes pads not working on a PAL console as nintendo made some stupid lockout for them so im guessing the problem might work the other way too. There is a mod to bridge the connectors on the ports board which will remove those stupid region locks for the pads.

well, PAL region controllers have no region lockout, so theyll work fine. This goes for any console. Literally anything. BUT- in certain PAL regions (Particularly Germany) you can not use NTSC controllers on a PAL system, Im pretty sure it is not the other way around and Euro controllers will work fine on a US system.

Worst comes to worse follow that tutorial importaku posted, its easy as pie.

I have 2 official Pal Snes controllers(think there from Australia)and both work fine on my Snes and Snes mini.
